Good game. Kinda yawnyish but its not my fault they have these things running til past midnight these days. Phils did have to win this game, cuz its true that their pitching drops off a bit after Hamel. But any of the Phils pitchers, as well as the Rays pitchers, can step up and perform big in any given game.

Wow. He never even got the bat off his shoulder. Shame on you Ryan. There were 2 pitches to hit there, especially that last one. Sit down ya bum!

You can get away with intentionally walking someone to get to Howard more than half the time, but the times when it doesn't work, it HURTS big time. Lets see how this plays out. I would not have wanted to give Chase anything to hit at this time myself. Might have tried pitching around him tho, cuz at times he does get a lil over anxious.

Then he still stayed to the field side of the baseline. Doesn't factor into the scoring though. The Bartlett walk, stolen base, Iwamura double was a nice slice of baseball. That and Crawford's fourth inning homer make it 3-2 Phils in the middle of the 6th.

Nice throw by Upton on that play at the plate in the 2nd. Thought that was a sac fly for sure. 2-0 Phils in the middle of the third.

After that opening boo boo on the play at first I thought " this is gonna be a crazy game" but the Phils recover and no damage is done.

Well, I'm not surprised. That pesky Utley gets the Phils on the board with a 2 run blast in the first. His 1st World Series at bat ever.

No Fair. I need time to get in touch with my feelings. HA. j/k. This is kinda tuff. I've always rooted N.L. I hate the Phils but only in my perspective as a fan of the Mets. When "it's on". I respect the Phillies team and most of the players and the Mets will be sitting home watching these games with us. My in-season hatred is a non factor. I really know the Phils team well cuz I get all their games here (as part of my basic cable package). But I like the Rays story. Reminds me of the Mets early years. There are some nice parallels there. So I'll vote for the N.L. team and root for a memorable World Series from both teams. -
Great game. It'll be the Rays vs. the Phils for World Series 2008. Im an N.L. man and I was pretty much set to have to root for the Phils, but I may change my feelings on that. Rays:Mets...both 4 letters. Lets Go Mets: Lets Go Rays....same amount of syllables. Rays wear some kinda blue..... Don't mind me. Just trying to justify myself to myself. I think what I'll do is just enjoy the series and root for both of em.

Is it me or is the booth slanted in Bostons favor no matter what is actually going on? Not Ronnie, of course. He knows when to talk and when not to. He does not say stuff just to fill spots. But those other two.... Buck Martinez sounds like an ornery old man no matter what he says (even good informative stuff, lol) and that other guy seems to think this Boston comeback script is already written and it's just a matter of them getting it done.
