  1. SHIT!. Baxter misplays that drive and my new nemesis Utley smacks one out. Damn you Chasely!
  2. batmagadanleadoff wrote: These photos need captions. Otherwise, I'm not buying why Jeff Wilpon would be at Socrates' death, or at high level WWII negotiations. It would be kool and funny if folks captioned them.
  3. Meh, I was all for making something happen there with Dave up. Strike em out throw em out DP

  5. Zvon wrote: Non Harvey news: The Mets have hit a homer in every game (7) so far this season. The 1987 squad holds that record with 8. This is inaccurate, isn't it? I just copied it from the newspaper. We've played 8 games.
  6. I think the winner for the season should get a real classy expensive matchbox car.
  7. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Sorry, they were closed a couple of hours ago. He runs a tight ship. Yea, Buck! gratz!
  8. Not sure if this will count (but it only took a minute to do).
  9. dinosaur jesus wrote: I love that he thought to bring his Dodger yearbook. Did he get Carter, Torrijos, and Waldheim to sign it? Carter. And I love that his security people had the autograph hunters line up behind him.
  10. batmagadanleadoff wrote: Wake me up for Harvey's next start. WAKE UP! There's sometimes exciting Harvey observations between starts. Harvey had at least 9ks in his first two starts this season, 3rd pitcher in Met history to do that along with David Cone (1992) and Pedro Martinez (2005). Harvey opens the season with consecutive starts in which he lasted at least 7 innings and allowed 3 or fewer hits. Only one other Met pitcher has done that. Nolan Ryan in 1970. Non Harvey news: The Mets have hit a homer in every game (7) so far this season. The 1987 squad holds that record with 8.
  11. Excellent DJ. Eating while being shopped is just rude.
  12. Edgy MD wrote: So, next night off for Davis goes to Duda. I think we can all agree on that, jocks and nerds alike. I'll disagree. Leave Duda be. Muffy or Baxter. I feel this is the season that Duda has to break through or not and I'm afraid that anything out of the routine will screw him up him. I'm not worried about Murphy in that regard. He's gonna be fine at second as long as any alt pos is in the infield.
  13. Phils post game show also did not like Valdesacs king kong like antics after the triple. It was a bit much but that stuff don't bother me. Even when an opposing player does it. Except for Nick Swisher.
  14. Murphy 2.5 Buck 3.5 Valdespin 1 Rice 1 Hawkins 1 Lyon 1
  15. Gah. Well, its Cliff Lee. wHaTrYaGoNNaDo? Don't you wish you had a team where Halladay goes bad but you still have a guy like Lee? Have we ever had that? The Gooden days? Seaver/Koosman? Oh kool, they pull him with 2 out. I was already typing my gah we lost post.
  16. ..or do that. Just saw the Turner DP (wasn't in front of the TV for that earlier) and that was a kinda big missed opportunity. Wanted him to shine tonight, and you know that rarely works out for a fan. Lee bats for himself in the 9th.
  17. metirish wrote: Sure they have conversations, this current one involving Cooney is quite good. If I can post kabooms there I'm outta here. Damn, Lee still in for the 8th? Rock his world Mets!
  18. metirish wrote: twitter is fun just now Phillies beat writer Kevin Cooney ?@KevinCooney You can't make the worst outfield in the majors & then u prance and pose after a 3B down 8-2. Get a freaking clue our own Bmfc getting retweeted and quoted by Rubin Adam Rubin ?@AdamRubinESPN 6m Or Victorino! RT @jeffhysen: On behalf of Mets fans, tell @KevinCooney to take hike. He ever watched Rollins strut or Howard admire his HRs? Twitters kool but to me its like shouting out stuff and hoping someones listens. Do people actually have conversations over twitter, or do they just state stuff? Ive tweeted once, when I registered my account.
  19. Turner,lol. WhaRyaDoiN?
  20. Baxter, who was frozen in his boots for strike 3. At least he....just walked away. Oh yea, he knew it.
  21. Yea, we gotta knock Lee outta there. Whos gonna bat for Burke?
  22. I guess that was a passed ball. I'm really impressed with what I'm seeing from Murphy so far. Esp the power. If he can swing for lift or swing for liner at will he will be another Ted Williams. Only get one run outta that? Booo Edgy MD wrote: Gary Matthews is a real disappointment as a broadcaster. I will agree with that 100%. I like the other two guys (esp back when they worked with Harry). Sarges voice is not suited for announcing of any kind. It's more suited to read fairy tales to kids before bedtime.
  23. Triboom 4 Valde. Nice.
