  1. Come on Ike. Simple hop.gah
  2. Capt Klutz. How can you be lookin there?
  3. Murphy hits one long and far and thank you laws of physics.
  4. I'll admit Turners beard is looking better but it still looks like an attachment for a vacuum.
  5. Did Keith just acknowledge and dismiss the dead soldier comment? If so well done sir.
  6. I shouldn't say that until Shauns outing is over.
  7. shitcrap. Well, we have to score one run ourselves to have a chance, more now. Shame if we waste this outing by Marcum.
  8. Marcum in a mess (
  9. Murph rips one long and far and damn you laws of physics!
  10. DP! Niiiiice.
  11. I figured there's no way these Fish games can't be anti-climactic after that last series sweep/sweep. My fan energy is low, like hungover. And now things get interesting. Bases all fishy, 1 out, Marcum to Mathis.
  12. Damn you Byrd. Ike rips a deep double.
  13. Adventures in Byrd running.
  14. Top of the 5th and its 8:15. Yanks in the 4th leading 2-0 so that games movin too.
  15. Marcum continues to look like a pitcher. Our pitchers have been looking like pitchers. Good pitchers.
  16. Funny, I just finished writing up this episode as part of an entry (technically for another game -- wins only, remember) for the third volume of The Happiest Recap, which covers 1987 through 1999. Consider this a sneak preview. Great read! Thanks 4 sharing that

  18. Ya know, I'm never interested in what the Yankees do aside from when we play em, but I am interested in this series w/Boston to see if the Sawx can hit em while they're down, and knock em down outta 1st even more--continue what the Mets started. I find that refreshing.
  19. In the first we see Shaun Marcum, the pitcher.
  20. I was very excited about Jefferies when he came up. Even after I realized what a dick he was I figured if he ever became the player he thinks he is we would have a great player there. Looking at his career numbers, which don't suck, he never lived up to my expectations. Shame.
  21. Muffy with a single in the 1st and thats all we get. Which Marcum will we see tonight?
  22. My first baseball glove was a Christmas gift in the late 60's. The big deal in my house was the Sears Christmas catalogue and my brothers and I would look for our favorite toys and things and beg for em. I selected this glove because it had the Met logo. I wasn't really a Met fan when I got it but I was becoming one. I think the glove might have been made by Wilson (for Sears). It was not a bad glove considering it was cheap and from Sears. I dont have the glove anymore and cannot find any pics of it anywhere, so I recreated it here: I'd love to find one of these for old times sake. The I started playing serious baseball in the 70s (becoming a big baseball fan and Met fan) and got my new Billy Williams fastback in around '71, and I have no idea what happened to the old Met logo glove. I hope one of my younger bros used it.
  23. A Boy Named Seo wrote: Jeff picks up McDowell who lands like 500 billion right hands in a microsecond. Awesome! And I was rooting for McDowell to punch that sense of entitlement right out of Jefferies hair, which was a strange feeling, rooting for a Phil.
  24. Threw one of these up on FB because someone has to teach those young whippersnappers Met history (a lot of people knew who Karl was tho, of course). Our owners don't give a shit so we have to take it to the streets. Someone recently mentioned my name and Karls in the same sentence. Lemme tell you, I was honored. I aspire to be a great fan like him, as should we all. Never forget Karl! Pass these around if you wish.
