  1. Officially becomes our "stopper".
  2. Wow.Excellent DJ as usual Foster reminds me of Chicagos pretty man.
  3. June update: Re-did the whole logo. Gave it some feel. Other than that and Jordany getting a little closer there are no changes. I don't expect to have any reason to update this until new players (thats you Wheeler and d'Arnaud!) do something worthy of recognition. I'd like to take that ASG logo out and put a pennant there in the middle at the end of the season. If Terry can get em up above .500 I'll stick him there. https://picasaweb.google.com/102387599896928448637/WALLPAPERS#5884672479551744482

When he's comfortable, he seems to lose focus. Hard to see a player like that being an everyday contributor. You're probably right but I feel we have to take a look see and the tail end of this season wouldn't be a bad time to do it, if only for upping his possible value. He'd need some time to adjust (he was rusty out there today-in right field and vs. curves) . Will it hurt his value if he sucks? I don't care. We should take a real good look at what he could give us before giving him to anyone else anyway. Whatever reasons Collins has had for kinda keeping him on a shelf can't be enough to negate such an experiment at some point. I don't think fear has anything to do with Valdes game. I'd replace the word fear with excitement or "the spotlight".
  5. Mets score! *grabs chest*
  6. I guess this was inevitable. Do the HIGHLY improbable and sweep the Skanks, and then get overpowered by the lowly Marlins. If they sweep us tomorrow I'll be very disappointed. Yes, I've conceded this game, 8-0 them after 7.
  7. 3 hits in the 7th.*yawn. Buck has seen 9 pitches today and struck out 3 times! Wake the fuck up Mets.
  8. So we are back to being totally lethargic?

  11. I thought McHuges 3rd was his turning point. WRONG! 4-0 undomesticated animals
  12. Not sure whats goin on there but now I wanna be a pirate.
  13. OH! Mathis scores from first on a gapper by Fernandez....the pitcher. Not a good throw Mr Q. 2-0 Underwatercreatures
  14. Ankiel walks in the second and tries to steal second. YER OUT! 1-0 Fish after 1 and a half. Gary does not like that roof close on nice days.
  15. Or his dooty. Nah, could have been worse. Fish plate 1 in the first : Ground out/ walk/walk/K/RBI single, runner out trying to advance to third. Nice throw by Ankie.
  16. Mr Q singles in the first and is stranded at second. Time for McHugh to do his duty.
  17. I'll give ya what I got. Lets called this an unfinished work.
  18. Vic, listened to a bunch of Nilsson last night and no way can I keep my list at ten favorites. Feel free to expand on yours to 15 or even 20. I found some nice Harry stuff online. The documentary that this thread is named for and this link below, Harrys only "full length LIVE recording"-so says this blogger. Harry didn't play out much, thats a fact. After watching bits of the video (pretty bad quality but watchable) I don't agree with the bloggers interpretation of the words exchanged between Harry and Gordon Jenkins. And one thing I noticed: Harry, singing with that freakin awesome voice, smoking cigarettes throughout the session, as well as many orchestra members smoking cigs, cigars, who knows what else. How could Harry smoke WHILE singing? When I played out I'd cut the smoking a half hour before the show and have a cup of tea w/honey. Never smoked during the gig. I really think that its possible that Harry thought his voice was too beautiful for his own good and wanted to make it a more rockin kinda voice like Lennon or Plant. While I was doing things to try and make my voice as good as possible, Nilsson was doing things to make his voice less beautiful. But he still sounded like a million bucks in this live BBC broadcast: http://fortheloveofharrynilsson.blogspot.com/2011/03/live-on-bbc-little-touch-of-schmilsson.html I hope to watch WHO IS HARRY NILSSON tonight.
  19. This is a great one, ty . After reading that I sense we have an advantage.

  21. A whole year. Kool beans. I started a wallpaper tribute dealeeo back when it went down and never finished it. If I had half a brain I'd have that ready for today.
  22. Benjamin Grimm wrote: It was a nice week. And maybe next week will be nice too. I do think that there's a chance that the second and third trimesters of this season will be better than the first. Hopefully a good chance. I doubt that this improvement, whatever it may be, will be enough to make the 2013 Mets contenders. (I've been hoping that this year will be another 1983. It started out like a 2003. Will it end up like a 1973? That would be fabulous, but I'm not counting on it.) So what can go right the rest of the way? * Harvey continues to be Harvey. * Wright and Murphy and Parnell keep it going. * Dillon Gee gets his shit together. * Ike Davis gets his shit together. * Ruben Tejada gets his shit together. * Lucas Duda cranks it up another notch. * Jon Niese is healthy. * Wheeler and d'Arnaud get their feet wet and indicate that they can contribute next year. * The Mets discover an everyday outfielder or two for 2014. Valdespin? Lagares? Ankiel? A mid-season acquisition? Will all of the above happen? Almost certainly not. But if we're able to check off enough of these items, then the preparation for 2014 won't look as daunting as it has been looking. I say we have to look at Valde in the OF. If not as a regular than certainly make him to the outfield what Turner is to the infield. But I'd like to see what he could do as a regular or platooned outfielder for an extended period. He's got the raw talent. We know he don't mind the spotlight. I hate to see him get away and go somewhere and be somethin else.
  23. Quintanilla 2 Murphy 3 Marcum 2.7 Carson 0.3
  24. Mets lose. Marcum was great for 6!
