  1. Huge double for Byrd. 3-1 Mets
  2. Warthen on the phone with Bucks wife.

  4. Wow, I forgot about that K ticket deal. Great start and TY Zach.

Except that 99% of the world doesn't even get a glove on it, and it's still an amazing catch even if you do. No, trust me on this one, I am NOT sitting at home saying I could have done that one better. The throw I honestly believe I could have done better (although we'd have to turn the clock back about a quarter century or so). I'm one of the 1%! But catch it? Last time I tried to make a play like that, I don't remember if I caught the ball. When I came down off the wall I broke my ankle. I remember that part. This should be Wheelers last. 11 Ks, still tied 1-1. 111 pitches. I'll tip my cap to him before he even gets out of this.
  6. The asshole did slide into Bucks foot. Ha.

Maybe it's just because they stand out more because of the importance of the games, but it certainly seems in recent years like line calls get worse in October! That is true. I think what I said in the IGT goes. If umps didn't suck as bad as they do these days they wouldnt need any more additional replays.

Poor OF throws annoy me probably more than anything else if for no other reason than I'm convinced that back in my day I had at least an average major league OFer's arm. I have very little ego about my athletic abilities but I know I could throw so bad throws in from the OF are the only situation where I'm saying to myself, "I could have done better than that". I was going to say in my post that as an outfielder if I got that much leather on trhe ball Id feel I should have had it. WHOA! Great throw Lagares....or thanks for the call ump? Thats the problem. If umps didn't suck so bad they wouldn't need replays.

And he had all the time in the world. He clearly needs more experience if he's gonna stay out there. One thing about the wall play was that it hit the meat of his glove. I always felt if you get it that close to your glove you should be able to get it in the glove. But he was flying there. Shwoosh. I accused him of not being able to play balls over his head. Hes improving. Still, directly over his head is an adventure.
  10. Have they ever considered having line umps during the season, like they have in post season play?
  11. Wheelers back to throwing many pitches. Approaching 80 pitches after four. That coulda been worse. The kid battles. Ks to end the side, big K, his 9th.
  12. Got the replay on the triple. Wow, Young almost caught that, and then off the TOP of the wall. What an effort. He played that well. Wheeler in a little pickle here. 2 on, 0 out.
  13. Huh. How could an ump see that different than what it was? Was Alonsos footwork so fast he fooled the ump? Muffy gets beer for heads up running.
  14. HahnSolo wrote: The Seaver bobblehead looks like Danny Graves. Its almost embarrassing. I dig the stand up tripleTM as much as the chicks do, but I missed that one. I was out in the garage and I switch on the AM radio and-it always happens like this-I hear static and then words and static, in and out, and it ALWAYS goes out during the most important words. So:long drive~~~~~~back in~~~~~~a stand up triple! There was a review? It should pop up as a replay soon.
  15. I dig the stand up tripleTM as much as the chicks do, but I missed that one.
  16. The Tom Seaver bobblehead they keep advertising looks nothing like Seaver. I bet we see the same mold next year for a Matt Harvey bobblehead - it looks more like him than Seaver. I'll never understand how they cant get em even close. I guess thats a little close. But this is Tom Seaver. It should be perfect! Should be the best bobblehead we ever had. This looks more like Keith:
  17. Wheeler looking good. Has some nice drop on his curve. But Ross is also looking good. Three Mets already caught looking at third strikes. 0-0 after 1& 1/2
  18. Very loud (could be 3 guys sitting by the mic) Lets Go Mets chanting here in the 1st. Two out single by Byrd. Ike looks at a fastball for strike three.
  19. Gonzo says LATE! Dodgers are unstoppable.
  20. The Mets have played it well but these Dodgers are so hot. We aren't gonna win. Just get it over with? Q SAYS NO!!!!!!
  21. Gonzo with Rush? I like.
  22. Puig a little annoyed at Buck for flying so deep to center. I don't think I'm gonna like this phenomenally talented kid.
  23. Yea, give the ump some lip Puig. Make friends.
  24. Ugh, I did not think he got that.
