  1. Hey, lets get something straight. I'm the idiot around here and I work very hard at it.

  3. Mejia's gotta play it cooler than that. The hand clap was bad enough but throwing his glove is just juvenile. Come on Mejia: man up. This won't be the last time they get to you.
  4. Yep. Mejias bearing down there was nice. It could have gotten away from him. I thought that 6-3 out was a single up the middle off the bat. Whew. 1-1 after two
  5. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Simmons scratched for Braves with jammed hand, maybe from that spill the other night. Other than the fact that Heyward (last night) and Freeman (practically always) are whalloping the ball I think we're catching the Braves (as we did the Reds) at a good time to take 2 of 3. A good long or bad long plane trip depends on it. Simmons: I hate to feel good about that but I do. Did you see that play he made last night. Jeez. Freeman: What's he batting this series? No, don't tell me. Yep, I want this series. MEJIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
  6. Mejia going for his second win this season. If New York can win they take the 3 game set.
  7. Young: .4 Wright: 2 Granderson: .4 Lagares: 2.7 d'Arnaud: 1 Wheeler: .5 Familia: 2 Germen: 1
  8. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGH. Well, they made it exciting. And slapped Kimbrel around 'lil bit. That'll have to do.
  9. WRECK HIM.FKN WRECK KIMBREL! WRECK THAT PEN!
  10. woooooow.
  11. Mah man Lagares. Very nice.
  12. EFF KIMBREL! ugh, that first pitch was a 'lil meaty but who expected the slider? And that one snapped. We'll take a walk. 3-1 count.
  13. I'm surprised that Santana wasn't given the chance to complete the game. Wussies. Wright singles. 2 on, 1 out. Ugh crap, Kimbrel.
  14. Frayed Knot wrote: Is there anyone else walking past the stadium in Atlanta that they'd like to sign so he can come in and toss a shutout? The peanut vendor maybe? That stuff will drive ya crazy. Saw the first few innings. Didn't think Ervin could keep it up. Has Santana been pitching that good or are we doing some extra sucking at the plate?
  15. That was an unbelievable play by the Brave SS.
  16. I LUV LAGARES!
  17. Gah. Heyward worked that at bat, and that last pitch was fatter than Colon. 0-1 Them
  18. Edgy MD wrote: Gave proof through the night! That our flag was still... OH, CRAP! Did this happen last night? If so I'm prepared to call it a horribly bad omen for the Braves (like they need more problems, ha).
  19. Great job by both. We said "Even though you know what you know Pittsburgh aint like playing at Shea And were making you feel like Kitty Genovese" This was the lolest line but Shea gets my vote. Writing about Bobby Bonehead is a thankless task.

Of course, I was in elementary school in '72. I would later learn, from other memorabilia collectors, that those Braves uniforms are considered among the flimsiest ever made. Collectors describe those Braves shirts as barely a grade above t-shirt quality. I never heard of that "blow pop" phrase to describe the stylized feather. I recently spent much time looking at these Braves unis colorizing a pic for a card. That logo thing reminded me of the 12 cent ice pop I'd get from the ice cream truck at age 7. Hey, kool. I can use that old 'lanta logo thing. Thanks.
  22. Young: 1.3 Duda: .7 d'Arnaud: 1 Tejeda: 3 Colon: 4
  23. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Also, Terry KILLING it in the replay booth. That's a part of our biggest rallies! I never thought it would play out like this. It's like a game show, The Call Is Right, and we kinda think we know the answer, cause they show us, and then we wait on the real answer, which in both these cases, I think, were actual close calls that even on replay might have gone either way. At least before we saw the Atlanta feed replay. But even that..
