  1. What's this i read about Cuddyer awarding the MVP of each game with a garish Met logo belt? The player keeps it in his locker until he loses the belt to the next games MVP. Anyone hear about this? Anyone have a pic?
  2. Granderson: 1 Lagares: 2 Duda: 1 d'Arnaud: .5 Flores: .5 Ceciliani: .5 Herrera: .5 Cuddyer: .5 Gilmartin: 2 Parnell: .5 Robles: .5 Familia: .5
  3. Granderson: 1 d'Arnaud: 1 Duda: 2 Lagares: .7 deGrom: 4.7 Leathersich: .3 Parnell: .3
  4. I didn't know what to do about Gee. He complains about the Mets hurting his value and then he goes out and causes his own value to flatline. He has been pulled around but he's not doing the job. He had plenty of opportunity to turn things around for himself. Still, this was the last thing I expected. I like Gee as well. I recall an interview he did in spring training with the female Gelbs. Gee was responding to the questions but it seemed he was talking to himself. He didn't even look at her, but out on the field. He seemed really intense. I thought this guy is so focused- this guys gonna have a good year on the mound. Wrong & wrong.
  5. Great game! I also felt like we could and possibly would win this one. I think it was how easily we scored in the 1st even though it took a wild pitch. That said the Lagares home run shocked me; he was down 0-2 in that AB as usual. Darnaud makes the whole lineup come alive. The banner was pretty much a last minute decision: we had tickets already, found out it was banner day only last week, and made it up last night. Changed the concept at the last minute and personally feel like we totally won but I think Karl is too subversive for the Wilpons; they prefer ones that espouse family values. On our way past first base we encountered Carlos Torres who signed our banner. I did see this. Very kool. I wanna say you totally won but I have you tied with the met fairy FTW.
  6. Nice TMF. This was an amazin' game. I'll look for the JCL tribe while I review it again. The homers from Herrera and Ceciliani really surprised me. And d'Arnauds blast was wicked.
  7. Gah! Loses him to a walk. Need that DP.
  8. This is a classic faceoff. Can't recall the last time I felt like that with the Mets. Full count. Bare down Fammy!

  10. Gwreck wrote: In other news, Milwaukee is putting a hurting on the Nationals tonight. 7-2 in the 5th. Niiiice.
  11. Nice running by Cecil. Cuddy brings him home. Niiiiice. That was a nice rip by Cudd. 5-3 Mets
  12. Wood splits. Aardsma in. Time to pounce.
  13. If our plan was to get into the Braves bullpen we have to try harder. Ceciliani singles!
  14. Whew. Good job digging out of that one Bartolo. 3-2 Mets, mid 5th.
  15. BIG K by Colon. He'll walk FFF intentionally to get to Markakis.
  16. Tsk, tsk Wilma. I don't think we get 2 there anyway. Peterson doubles home another run. 3-2 Mets. All this w/o the involvment of Fkn F F
  17. Colon in trouble in the 5th. Bases loaded, no out, Mets up 3-0.
  18. Damn. He hit that too well.
  19. There's another ribby out there for ya Colon. Pick it up!
  20. Berry=#4000FF]BOOM! 3-0 Mets. I knew Flores was due. If he hits 25 this year that should shut everyone up. Herrera doubles!

When you post for a call to vote it should hit the walls & feeds of all those friended by the CPF on fb. I bet there are other old fans who fondly remember the Schaefer Met Player Of The Game. Maybe they'll get involved. You would have to be loud about it initially, to get folks attention. I hate to see this go away. I also don't understand why every one here does not vote. It's such a simple thing.
  22. Disclaimer: By posting this article, I am not assuming that I know more about Choo Choo Coleman or Choo Choo Coleman's baseball cards or anything, really, than everybody else here. Actually, I know nothing. I don't even know what I'm doing here, or how I got here. I can tell you that Choo Choo's 1966 Topps high numbered card cost me fiddy bucks in the late 1980's. At that time there were only a few 60's Mets baseball cards that were more expensive. Tom Seaver's rookie, Nolan Ryans rookie, Kevin Collins rookie...that's about it IIRC. I still have the Choo Choo. Wonder what it lists for these days.
  23. Bill homered in 4 consecutive games in his rookie year 1969 for the Dodgers. Mets picked him up on waivers and he did jack shit. Became a Yankee before he hung em' up. Appeared at the Sadecki Spot. Who's got what on Butch Benton?
