"You come from a ballclub that was competing for a spot in the playoffs. And you come to a club in last place. You think about that," the ex-New York Mets shortstop told the Denver Post. "... I'm at the point in my career that I want to win. I say it over and over. I want to win. I don't want to spend the rest of my career on a last-place team. That's not the kind of player I feel like I am." Reyes is owed $22 million apiece in 2016 and '17. He also is owed a $4 million buyout of the following year's salary. "We'll see what happens here," Reyes continued. "But in the next couple years, I don't want to waste my time like that. ... I don't have to prove myself to anyone. People know what I'm capable of. I've spent a long time in this game. My numbers are down. Stolen bases, triples, whatever. But I'm 32 years old. If there's some part of my game I need to change, it's to stay healthy. Just stay on the field. At this point in my career, I have to be smart." Quit cryin'. You'd be a 5-10 guy if you stuck with the Mets. Thanks Ed. I read these quotes a few days ago so I dunno what the big deal is. Gary made it sound like Reyes was in the Colorado doghouse. I took to my easy chair around the 3rd inning and nodded off for a bit. I have never done that before during a game. I must officially be getting old.
  2. hahahaha, Blackmon really sucks.

Chris, my brother finally got with me and we pooled our Archive doubles. There's something going on here with these cards. Is it possible that there are cards from the base set that are only available in hobby boxes (I'm not including #301-330 "short prints")? It seems that some of the base cards are scarce and this is becoming a rather frustrating experience. I assume the official "short prints" are hobby only because we haven't come across even one of those.
  4. I hope Gary goes into more detail about the comments Reyes made in the Rocky rags. If he did in the pregame intro I missed it. Another wild pitch. Yikes. I was afraid this game would be a nightmare for Verrett but instead it's a nightmare for the shitty guy.
  5. That HBP got Flores right in the hip socket and that might be trouble later. 2 wild pitches by that shitty Rocky pitcher makes it 3-0 Mets. Amazin'.
  6. Wow. A big DP in which Verrett helped himself by hustling to cover 1st base. Then Flores makes a diving stop of a grounder up the middle, gets up and makes an accurate and powerful throw to end the frame. 1-0 Mets I didn't think he'd get out of that w/o allowing a run. Excellent.
  7. Damn, logan, we need at least 6 from you. Settle down man. Rockies start the game w/ back to back singles.

  9. This shitty Rocky pitcher managed to K the side around the walk & double. 1-0 Mets
  10. A Grandy walk and Muffy double makes it 1-0 Mets, 1 out in the 1st.
  11. Crazy game. I could see the game but couldn't hear it and I thought it was hailing there. But that was just balls falling from the sky into the gaps every few seconds. 14-9. DeJaVu!

When was Fred last seen in daylight? Or perhaps he made some kind of a deal with the devil... What can I say? The future is unwritten. I'm open to the unexpected. Right? Perhaps when his time comes, he'll simply refinance with, like, voudan or Santeria. His time won't come. He's paying vampires to make him immortal. That's where the Wilpons $$ is going. ^Fred in The Strain

  15. What a great game.
  16. ughhhhhhhhhh. And he ripped it.
  17. Grandy almost lost one. 13-9 Mets, NY up in the 9th. Gimme a caption for the Cespedes card I'm gonna whip up.
  18. Meh, we'll take it. 5 hits. Amazin'
  19. Cripes. The Rockies owe us all 5 minutes. Thats fucked up, TC should have ran out there. But I suppose he would like to get the same treatment.
  20. What's this bullshit!
