  1. Everytime some rook pitcher comes in and does this to us I'd fire all the advance scouts. 1 fkn hit.
  2. Wisler stays in for the 8th. Time to knock him outta there guys.
  3. Would I buy Topps cards if they looked like this? [fimg=400:rsb2hajj]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DZ8TR6LhQR8/VykCdjwKLtI/AAAAAAAAnGk/tjCaw5Od2bcKschlGIWEtjn_e4eJc7mzACCo/s912/2016Leadersgeneric.png[/fimg:rsb2hajj] No way. Yea, the logo on the border is one thing, and it's not totally necessary. But the uni logos and team name and the interlocking NY--if you can't show that you can't properly represent my team, which has the best logo and name and NY thing known to man and the universe.
  4. Question regarding 1968- and 1969-style Heritage: will Jose Altuve, Dallas Keuchel and others on that team (assuming they're still on that team) be known as members of the ASTROS or simply HOUSTON? A logical & intelligent way to go. But we know Topps can be neither at times.
  5. No, I'd bet they go HOUSTON. They've really done a good job of staying true to the originals: _____________________Amazing.
  6. Alls I can say is thank God for deGrom and Syndergaard, because if not for them I'd be more disappointed about Harvey. I expected a better start to '16. But our eggs aren't all in that basket.

  8. Totally loving the 14 yr celebration clips on the MLBtv commercial. Oh yea, let em both steal. Jeezelueeze.
  9. Bloop single. I'd pull him. Terry will too. Nah, if Harveys gonna be something it's gonna be with us. Him at his worst is not all that bad.
  10. Flatlining at 91mph here in the 6th. 2nd yr funk from TJ?
  11. *shakes head Plawecki. Come ooooon. 3-0
  12. WOWWWWzers. Not even thinking cutoff man. But I guess when you have an arm like that...he don't need no stinkin' cut off man.
  13. Edgy MD wrote: Last inning, Harvey. He's already gassed. 2-0
  14. There ya go. First hit. Lets go Mets. Awwwwwwwwww.

  16. I missed the homer. I heard Howie talking about the orange line at Shea tho, & I wondered why he brought that up. Just saw it. Gah. And it's always one of those no name rooks. Well, not always.
  17. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Steve Phillips on the pregame radio show yesterday acknowledged that Harvey has gotten fat -- "thick around the torso" was the polite way he said it -- and that he felt it was among other things, preventing him from having good enough mechanics to hold runners on. Harvey is a disaster. I think it was Keith who said that he thought Harvey was in his best shape coming into this season. But I agree with what Phillips said, he was a little thick mid/belt. With a pitcher that might not be a bad thing if you have a windup that relies less on the legs, like with Colon. I'm still not sure that is the thing that is not right with Mattman. I didn't even give a thought to his bulge having anything to do with holding men on.

It seems like year in and year out, the Bowman sets are awful. And it seems like there are three or four variations of the sets -- a Chrome version, and so on. They're not as bad as the new Donruss sets -- without the team logos on them. But those Bowman sets can do away. I'm not a fan of all the special versions and all that. It makes the hobby into something that it shouldn't be. I still kinda dig it when I get one though. And I cannot stomach cards that cannot use logos and whatnot. I'm simply not interested in them. I collected heavy in the past (& I'd put up with that kinda shit on Hostess cards or the like) but not at all during the days Topps took over the market and I don't understand how that was allowed to happen. Well, I do, money, but I don't think that should be allowed to happen if another company is willing to spend the same as Topps for the privilege of using the logos. I don't think that's right.
  19. I had to take a look at em. Ha. Niiiice. It's not that I don't like the logo. Logos kool. It's just that it's the only difference between O.D. cards and regular issue. They should use an alternate picture of the player. [fimg=200:2yjovixa]http://beckett-www.s3.amazonaws.com/news/news-content/uploads/2016/03/2016-Topps-Opening-Day-Baseball-Mascots-Hank-the-Ballpark-Pup.jpg[/fimg:2yjovixa] I'll buy a few packs of these this week and get back to you. Mrs. Met might make my must list.

Booth mentioned something about the high socks game before this one...I don't think it was Duda though. Might have been.
  21. Mets win! We all were happy!
  22. Ugh, I've been avoiding Opening Day because they are like the regular card but only add the lil O.D. logo. Do they still do that, same as Topps reg card? What a rip. And they'll keep doing it if we buy em. I am collecting Matt Reynolds though. I haven't gotten the Heritage Reynolds yet.
  23. Interesting conversation about the "straddle" approach. Tell me why that won't work these days. [fimg=400:2wgn8wfp]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QZ0wM7tWJTU/VBKF5NxtzkI/AAAAAAAAUTU/FB5i0SE1LhA-KqC_pUM-NXGHNwoJ3yWBgCCo/s867/74mfc73WSgm1-Buddy%2BTag-z14.png[/fimg:2wgn8wfp]
  24. Saw this two or three days ago when it went up on facebook. And yesterday I saw it made ESPNs baseball page (vids along bottom), which is superkool. Kids an adorable mini-Thor.
