  1. Thats a hit. I neeeeed to make kaBOOMs for these new guys.
  2. Ha. Harvey ain't hittin no homers tonight. He bailed out on every pitch.
  3. Walks can lead to baseball death. Nice play Walker!
  4. I said Harvey should grow his hair. Looks like he cut his hair. Hey, whatever works. Booth says he has a new pitch.
  5. cooby wrote: Update? Did it start? Yes, after one inning, 0-0 Mets. Matt looks good. Strass looks...I won't say great. He looks good too.(he has thrown some perfect pitches GRRrrr)
  6. The news on Flores is that he just started that assignment. Oy. He'll be playing for those Binghampton Bums (my choice for their new name). Joins the team Friday?
  7. I hear tell that we'll have Flores at first tonight. I thought he was on assignment.
  8. I was a little surprised to hear the booth talking about this and making it sound like it's a consideration at the forefront. Flores could possibly step up. He usually does when he has nothing to lose. This might not make sense but I like Conforto for first, but all in. If they re-train him during a season to play 1st, and if he does well, he stays @ first and is our first baseman for the next 15 years. When Duda returns he bats off the bench. Duda's the kinda guy who could be great off the bench.

I don't want to mess with Conforto's head but this might be needed from a team standpoint, and I think he'd take it in stride. Would he be good @ 1st? No clue. But he's a lefty and he's gonna be a hitter like Keith. I would love to see him try first base. Hmmm. And then an regular outfield of Cespedes-Lagares-Granderson, with Conforto getting to sink or swim as an everyday player at first base, or possibly in a platoon with Flores. I'd rather take a chance on this than Flores/Campbell/Kelly as the regular 1B. At the very least, we get the good outfield defense every day. It might be wise or whatever, but I do not want to platoon Conforto at any position. The sink or swim line, I know what you mean. He doesn't deserve to be put in that position. Yea, keep him in left. I don't want them babying him with a platoon tho, not unless/until it's 100% necessary. This Flores talk, it sooths me. Because Wilmer can do it. We have seen him do stuff, maybe stuff beyond his means. Wilmer could step up and be big purple big.
  11. The Mets are now 57-44 all-time in Washington vs the Nats. Bartolo Colon now has 222 career wins, tying him for 73rd on the all-time list with Tim Hudson and Jerry Koosman. With David Wright's three run homerun, he also set a franchise record for most 3 RBI games with 81. Most 3 RBI games in franchise history: David Wright: 81 Darryl Strawberry: 80 Mike Piazza: 73 Carlos Beltran: 51 Since the start of the 2015 season, the Mets have held Bryce Harper to a .200 batting average, 4 doubles, 4 HR and 8 RBI in 90 at-bats. Yoenis Cespedes now has 32 home runs as a Met putting him 57th on the teams all-time list. One behind Ramon Castro and Jay Payton. Yo is said to be on a pace for 55 long balls.
  12. Verrett for the 9th. 7-1 Metropolitans
  13. wow. In 2013 it was Harvey, deGrom, & Wheeler in order of how good I thought they'd be. Then it shifted to deGrom, Harvey, Thor, Matz. Now it looks to be Thor, deGrom, Matz, Wheeler, & Harvey. Colon, of course, stands alone.
  14. When David Wright suffered a lower back stress fracture in 2011, he missed 58 games. And that was a misdiagnosis. I do not trust any of the Mets medical people so I don't know what to think. But we can't be diminished like this at both corners. This is bad stuff. Conforto ain't the best outfielder. He's better than I thought from initial reports, but still. If we move him to first other better options open up. I don't want to mess with Conforto's head but this might be needed from a team standpoint, and I think he'd take it in stride. Would he be good @ 1st? No clue. But he's a lefty and he's gonna be a hitter like Keith. I would love to see him try first base. Ty Kelly looks like a young Abe Lincoln. Or maybe an old one.
  15. Another back stress fracture? WTF?! Wright got the same injury, supposedly making a diving tag. This is horrible news.
  16. HAha. Harper sucks.

  18. Oh, this has been archived? Forget it. I got here thru a search (works great btw). I was looking for the Mets bullpen cart photoshops. I can't recall what thread they were in. I found them in my photobucket though so I'm good.

Yo Batmags, that is AWESOME! work and hilarious. As to your question about how long the movie poster took. I don't remember but I think I did mention wanting to make one in this thread. I probably would have started it right after that comment. We are losing stuff in this thread (imagewise) and that's a shame. I still have all my stuff supported although I may have moved some to another album during organizing stuff. I would have saved all of em and supported them just to keep this thread whole. I'm gonna start sharing these crazy things on fb and twitter. Only the ones I made. I'd also post the others with permission. Some really great and funny work here. Shame for it to just fade away.

  22. Can u change this thread to just "photos"? I didn't know where to put this. Found this thread 6 pages deep. The bullpen had dinner out together tonight in D.C. I love these guys Warthen looks so small.
  23. cooby wrote: kinda like when my daughter replaced the word "ok" with "oinkoink" on my phone last summer. The little dickens. Took her three weeks and much consternation on my part before she owned up to it KABOOM!! Haha, that's hilarious Took you folks long enough to figure out. I'll fix it once the winning streak ends. I hate to change things up when we're hot. Is anyone complaining? I know I normally have a problem if anyone changes what I type on the internet by any means, but this is homerun=kaBOOM! I have no problem with it. OE: lol. I'm such a dolt I didn't realize "home" "run" wouldn't show up^
  24. I noticed it a few days ago. Kinda kool, if it works right. homerun home run run home runhome home. Run Seems to. After all, this is the birthplace of the kaBOOM!.
