  1. Cespedes don't need to dive! He outruns the ball!
  2. Yoenis Cespedes is hitting a home run every 11.8 at bats in a Mets uniform. Babe Ruth hit one every 11.76 at bats during his career. (Just pulling this stuff from twitter- I have no confirmation but I'll share it anyways)

He could have started the slide later, and maybe to better results, but that was as boring a routine slide I've ever seen. Yeah, he slid too early to the point where he had practically come to a stop by the time he reached the bag. Slide hard into that pillow dammit! Yea, that's true. It didn't look that bad on replay but in real time he did slow his motion.
  4. Yoenis Cespedes is now tied for 58th on the Mets All-time home run list with Ken Boswell (31 homers).
  5. Livin' & dyin' on dat homer.

  8. It was that Brewer guys first HR? This season or ever? Ugh, what does it matter. Oy, he drives in another. 3-1 Barleys & Hops

  10. You should be running for President Ceets.
  11. A day earlier than usual? Maybe that's exactly what he needs. I wanted and expected him to make his next start.

In one single post, name the team and the four pitchers. Braves? Maddux Smoltz Glavine & Avery
  13. ew, I'm not sure what year they started doing the player of the month thing.
  14. Anthony DiComo ?@AnthonyDiComo 11m Since 1900, the only left-handed pitchers in MLB to win 10 of their first 13 career starts are Steven Matz and Kazuhisa Ishii. People are just making up stuff now aren't they? OE: I'll wait and see in the morning paper.
  15. Steven Matz is the first player in #Mets history to win 10 of his first 11 major league decisions. [fimg=400:2tk00534]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BpDaP8wN1Mo/Vz_ILnGUNJI/AAAAAAAAoEs/Do-SDk9NztMa7bEbS2RaLlFR8gSV4GfgQCCo/s720/MORErbs.png[/fimg:2tk00534]
  16. ***Transaction made today*** Milwaukee Brewers Recall Keon Broxton, Place Domingo Santana on DL OF - Keon Broxton (R): .000/.111/.000, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 SB (16 ABs) Broxton played 25 games with AAA Colorado Springs, posting a .301/.390/.583 slash line to go along with seven home runs, 18 RBI, and 15 steals. And Broxton is in the lineup. Hmm. He could be scary if he carries it over.
  17. Capt. Kirk! Oh yea, that's where he ended up.
  18. Thanks for this because I know jack shit about the Brew Crew these days.
  19. Steven Matz is now 10-1 in his regular season Mets career.
  20. That was a great game *SALUTE Mr. MATZ!
  21. 1 down. Da sink is sinkin. Niiiiice.
  22. Fammy for the close. 3-2 Metropolitans
  23. Edgy MD wrote: You know, if the team is willing to pursue an edge enough to have everybody in the bullpen throwing the quick pitch, all the more reason bunting for base hits should be back de table. I don't see the correlation. I'm not a fan of the quick pitch. I am a fan of small ball. I'm a fan of any kind of baseball. I don't know that we should be saying we are only a home run hitting team. This team shouldn't have to live up to that. This team should be able to shift gears to small ball when dictated. So I wish TC would stop saying we live by the homer.

PC screens have taken their toll on my eyes big time, worse than TV ever did. Course I'm talking about when PC monitors were small, deep things. I'm not a fan of devices for the net just for that reason. Too small.
  25. Steven Matz becomes the Mets first LHP to give up two runs or fewer in six consecutive starts since Johan Santana from 2008-2009.
