  1. I'm taking a baseball virgin to next Saturday's Mets-Yankees game. That's going to be an interesting first exposure to live baseball.
  2. Good stuff. Chapman's been showing a crack or two right? Let's see if we can't burst that dam.
  3. I've taken i88. once. Was probably 10 years ago. Took it to Syracuse from Ithaca. Was the last time I was at a Hooters. Went to a movie in the Carousel mall. Was it the second Matrix movie? I'm drawing a blank now.
  4. I always enjoy the Braves organist. I forgot to pay attention last week though. #Braves vs #Yankees - Jet and 'Leaving on a Jet Plane' for Jeter #Braves vs #Yankees - Take the Money and Run for Teixera next time #Braves vs #Yankees - Next for A Rod - 'I Wan't a New Drug' ;-) #Braves vs #Yankees - they just showed a sleeping Yankees fan on BravesVision ;-) #Braves vs #Yankees - Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer for Andruw Rudolph Jones #Braves vs. #Yankees - Mrs. Robinson for Robinson Cano

  6. I will be in attendance for this one. The #mets top two draft picks will be taking BP 'with'? the team before the game. I should probably at least remember their names.

There's another I-88 which runs from Chicago to Moline, Illinois, but the one that runs to Binghamton seems more appropriate, because if Ike doesn't get off the Interstate, that's where he may end up. One more hit could get him to .190. I90 goes to Buffalo. edit I-190 actually is viewable from Buffalo's stadium. I-90 also starts in Boston very close to Fenway Park and ends in Seattle in front of Safeco Field and passes right by Jacobs Field in Cleveland along the way. You could do a great ballpark tour on that highway. Gets real close to the Chicago stadiums as well. we took it there.

  10. Rays going with full Cha-Cha Slide between innings. also, Parnell for 2 over Batista please. (or score 6 more and Batista for two. or Hefner)
  11. TransMonk wrote: funny, they played clown music between the last two innings (apparently they were doing a blooper reel thing)
  12. Macho Man playing between innings at the Trop.

  16. Guys a serious ROY candidate.
  17. TransMonk wrote: I have to imagine out of the 106 pitches he threw last night, at least 90 of them were knuckleballs. RA doesn't need to tip his pitches for the batter to know what's coming. He's just throwing that one pitch really, really well. Either he was joking or that was ridiculously stupid tweet by Maddon. he was joking.
  18. gonna be one of those games.

  21. Last hit I see being overruled to an error was an Endy Chavez hit to second on Saturday.

But my issue was that the reliever, as opposed to the team, was once credited with a no-hitter. well, he got all 27 outs right? *looks up the reliever* Ernie Shore. Actually, that was the first combined no-hitter.
  23. HahnSolo wrote: batmagadanleadoff wrote: I hope RA squeezes them for every last penny they have. Well, I'd like if he got more than the league minimum. He's getting $4,250,000 this year with an option for $5 next year. The way he's going I guess it depends on if he tries to milk it for every last drop, or just takes the 'safe' route. I mean, next year is his age 38 season. I'm sure someone would be willing to throw a gazillion at him for one year, but knuckleball or not, 39+ year old men are not the most durable. He still uses his legs to stride, etc.

  25. Edgy DC wrote: There's the ongoing issue that there really aren't professional standards among official scorers. It's not as bad as it used to be, but it's still a safe bet that tough calls are more likely to fall on the side of giving a hit to the home player. And the league office is the objective arbiter. yeah, like the Jeter hit the other day. stupid. I saw the play, but never saw a side by side to see where Upton was. They do change things very frequently, I doubt all of those are initiated by protest.
