  2. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Lagares playing like he wants to stay in the lineup. well, not going anywhere with Young on the DL A guy to play LF though, would be nice. We just might end up seeing Duda there. Or maybe Kirk Nieuwenhuis?
  3. side retired, so the double after the HR doesn't hurt. time for more Mets runs.

  5. oh, screw you Zimmerman.
  6. Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde. good read.

But Alderson is still here! Homeland Security actually is a subset of the Chronoguard and came back in time to award the Mets this today, because they're protecting something in the Standard Historical Eventline (SHE).
  8. as pointed out on Twitter by 2012's banner day winner, Noah (the kid's name) got even more popular post-Notebook. It was actually 5th in 2011 for boys names.

  10. Don't worry, I'll make sure I still log on here and make sarcastic comments about Eric Young Jr and/or 0.
  11. blowhards, all of 'em.
  12. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I didn't know they performed drive-by baptisms in Washington DC. I still haven't seen anything about who gives up a roster spot for Murphy. (Or if Chris Young is going on the DL.) Young on DL is official. the baptism is actually in Virginia near Langley (my wife's goddaughter's father is/was in the coast guard) and obviously I looked up the home schedules for the Nats and Orioles (and the Tide) that weekend.
  13. I'm sure this info is out there somewhere on like Cribz or whatever, but what do these guys do with all this junk?
  14. probably won't, both righties.
  15. isn't it sometimes just about doing a favor and appearance fees? Don't some guys get stupid high money whenever they're credited based on SAG agreements or something?
  16. In other news, I am NOT at this game, which is good, because since the advent of MLB At The Ballpark statistics I've never seen the Nats lose in 9 tries now. And they don't come back until the second week of august and the second week of September (which I'm definitely not attending) and won't be in Washington when I drive by for a baptism.

After all those years of WFAN being the flagship station of the Mets, their voices seem as out of place as an Ayatolla at a Bar Mitzvah. Later Yeah, was a little weird. And getting Mets updates on the 10 second ID. but whatever.
  18. I'm with those who thought the movie to be fun and with some good performances but not all that deep. You can barely can figure out who's scamming who much less why and so I didn't find myself caring all that much how things turned out. Now for the real question: Why was Robert DeNiro's part in this not only uncredited but also unmentioned in all (at least all that I've heard) the discussion of this much talked-about film? I think they should have an Oscar for best cameo. It'd be kinda fun. Maybe he wasn't mentioned because he was unaccredited and there's a lot of inner circle proprities stuff going on in Hollywood? But it's a good point. I enjoyed that scene even if it didn't ultimately seem to have much relevance.
  19. metirish wrote: WTF is wrong with Chris Young?, why would he be gone? Because he broke himself running for a foul ball in the top half of the first inning last night and was pulled from the game.
  20. Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson will throw out the first pitch after awarding the Mets some award for post-Sandy work.
  21. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Is Wilmer gone to make room for Murphy? Probably Chris Young but haven't seen anything announced yet.
  22. Eric Young, Jr. LF Daniel Murphy 2B David Wright 3B Curtis Granderson RF Lucas Duda 1B Juan Lagares CF Travis dArnaud C Ruben Tejada SS Zack Wheeler RHP
  23. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: MFYs humilaited for a second night vs. the Astros, lose 3-1. to add insult to injury, seems like MLB's servers went down. Heard MLB.TV was having issues and the out of town scoreboard at Citi stopped updating so I couldn't even mock the Yankees. Got a good hour of Suzyn and John though on my ride home. I'm good for the year.
