  1. come on guys, let's talk about this.. I've only been half listening. Puello cut someone down at the plate then Freeman 3-run homerd.

  3. different generations.
  4. 195 IP, 155 K, 3.37 ERA, 45 BB, throws 498 curveballs You know, I agree with all the injury talk. even the Spring Training narrative is about how he was in pain last year and feels so much better this year. And then I looked and he threw 187.2 IP which is nearly a career high. He's thrown 521 over the last three years which is 52nd in baseball. He went on the DL on 7/4 after getting hit with a line drive (Thought it was technically for 'shoulder soreness') but wrapping that around the ASB he didn't really miss much time. There were multiple MRIs last spring and he had an elevated heart rate late in the season. Career low in BB per 9. He only went less than 5 IP once besides the 7/4 game. He's a competitor, for whatever that's worth. If he does pitch a full season again this year that health stuff very well might be a footnote and he could become a really hot commodity. he'd be on basically a 3/30 yr contract with team buyouts for both those last two years. if he pitches to the 3.49 ERA he's had over the last three seasons or better and is healthy that's something the Mets could make a killing on.
  5. 646 PA, 40 2B, 10 HR, 12 SB, .290/.333/.419, 15 GIDP, 2 HBP, 5 SF. why yes, that's his "162 game average"
  6. Will be one of those "Can't find a spot despite pitching pretty well' guys who ends up pitching pretty well all things considered. 12 G, 9 GS, 60IP, 65 K, 12 BB, 2 HR, 3.3 ERA, 1 Save

Having another good reliever is going to go a long way towards him using one of his best pitchers in non-save situations when it really matters. Provided he does come back healthy and all that. I suspect he'll get some save opportunities but struggle at first, do a quick DL stint with some 'soreness' that is really just soreness, and will be mostly back to normal upon return but with fewer save opportunities until game 6 of the NLCS when Mejia is gassed and he locks it down, blowing a fastball by Yasiel Puig to clinch the pennant. 32.1 IP, 4.5 ERA, 9.1 SO9 3 saves, 3 blown saves.

I could see the Mets doing very well and him transitioning back to a minor league coordinator type role or something else altogether. That may in fact be the best solution, I'd hate for the Mets to feel like they need to replace him immediately and not do the due diligence in finding an actual quality replacement rather than just falling to Wally, who I think would be worse.
  11. batmagadanleadoff wrote: Take on the tougher scenarios. What if the Mets go 84-78 but don't make the playoffs? Then whaddya think would happen to Terry? How do they finish? 12-12 with half the team injured? 16-4 and get beat out? A lot depends. Do they finish 8-12 but it's because Wilmer Flores goes 3/45 and the bullpen implodes? Or do they finish 8-12 and [crossout]Argenis Reyes[/crossout] Wilmer Flores goes 3/45 and Tejada is 80/240 on the season with 3 HR and a .360 OBP? but only gets 4 AB the final week?
  12. I've always liked Kirk and think he's done himself well. out of options too so probably sticks as the 5th OF guy. Won't really get to play against lefties much but will get a fair amount of AB otherwise. 232 PA. 6 HR, 6SB. Won't carry the .259/.346/.482 line from last year into the bigger sample, but .261/.328/.462 seems doable. Will log at least 1 inning in each of the three outfield positions. I could see him playing in like 140 games just because as currently projected he might be the only lefty on the bench so he'll get that pinch hit off the bench a lot.

Seemed to try too hard with a 99-MPH fastball on his next-to-last pitch, and OF COURSE dropped the hammer for strike three on his next pitch. Syndertime. Harvey hit 99 on the gun? yup. Maybe it's running fast. Howie said he the stadium gun read 104 on the second pitch. bought a sixpack of that last night. can I take credit?

Yesterday, I wrote and tweeted Bill Price, and he spiked the nasty parts of his column. I rarely have this sort of effect, so if I can straighten out something for anybody, help you with a uncomfortable confrontation, now's the chance to ask me. I think their is a retail chain you can call for JCL.
