I thought the idea was to create roster and payroll flexibility? one year contracts don't hinder that. One year contracts do not hinder flexibility. Paying John Maine millions is just stewpidity!

This was in todays schnooze. It appears Wally feels he wasn't given a fair shot at the Mets managerial job. Unless Wally wants to layup in Brooklyn he may want to try a new organization, one that will assure him upfront that his baggage is "history." and personally I hope it is. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/11/27/wally-backman-still-thinks-he-was-the-right-choice-for-mets-manager/

I think all this anti-Reyes nonsense is really just Ashie's way of saying he really, really, really wants to go on a roadtrip with the guy. Who's manning the radio? Who'll break down and ask for a pit stop first? Who'll win license plate bingo? it's been a long year.

Jeter's request of 150 Million for 6 years is the least he is willing to take. Joe Dimaggio didn't get a Yankee Icon deal, Reggie was let go and it looks like Jeter very well may have played his last game for the MFY's.

I'm still not certain that I'd want this, mind you. I'm pretty certain, though, that the Snakes wouldn't do this. If the snakes would do this I will drives Reyes & Beltran to AZ and bring back Upton & Drew.

If the package the team gets back is more valuable, it's more valuable. Trading is part of every game on some level. Edgy, if you want to go another year with Reyes God bless ya. It would be ironic if Tejada is the opening day SS. Who nows, maybe Marco Scutaro.

Following the Heyman links leads to a Joe Posnanski article and this chart, listing the highest cumulative WARs in MLB over the last 10 seasons: The legend of Carlos Beltran continues to grow..... Also , Albert Pujols average season is MVP caliber (as if no one knew this). Barry Bonds' typical season (last 10 years) is an all-time one for the ages season. Very interesting. I'm not surprised to see Helton there. He has quietly been very very good. I see him as an HOF candidate but I believe many will think of him as a compilier.

I don't remember May's 650th being that big a deal. The game was stopped for a moment. Having said that, for me, the Mays milestone rings Blue and Orange for me, not so much the others.

The only licensed manufacturer of MLB cards is Topps. Print runs are limited to what they can sell. The old school "set collector" is a thing of the past. So are "Mom and Pop" card stores. The younguns of today don't spend their dough on sportscards..they spend the money on.. Gaming issues. I have my own online store and most customers are adults..Yikes.

I am satisfied that Francessa and MFY fans are going through their own personal hell at the moment. Happy Thanksgiving!

I would like Alderson to listen to all offers. No one, no one is untouchable. Reyes is not pulling in Posey..but.. The Cardinals have a breakout OF named Jon Jay.. Y'all know how I feel about Reyes. I can't take the aggravation that comes with Jose anymore.
