  3. If Pelfrey is going to get about 7 million in arbitration I would non tender him and try and find a couple of Capuano's and spend the rest towards an ace.

(They'll finally be called the Miami Marlins, which is what they should have been from the beginning.) The uniforms are supposedly going to be rainbow colored. That doesn't sound like such a good thing. I caught a few innings of the game on TV yesterday, and the Marlins were advertising their new stadium, and the logo included a rainbow above the ballpark, which looks more like a spaceship. (They got the color sequence wrong; the green should come between the blue. And it looks like their rainbow omits those pesky colors indigo and violet.) Its the Tampa Bay Lightning!
  12. At this point does it really matter. They suck..Bay out with a cold?

As of 40 seconds ago and on the heels of the latest Alderson clip on the CF walls, he's now suddenly all for bringing in the CF walls. The team needs HR's to win and Mets are disheartened from the get go at Spring Training when their bombs three hop the Florida OF walls that are as far as away as Citi's, sez Ojeda. You shoulda heard what he was saying up until 40 seconds ago. OF dimensions don't matter, he' say, while rewinding an Ike Davis 440 foot bomb for his Exhibit A. Ojeda's worthless. Steve Olin would agree.
  15. The Mets need more talent.
  16. Beyond the 9 games I hope Pelfrey is non-tendered..with prejudice.
  17. The grass is not greener on the other side?
  18. It would only be bullying if the rookies were LGBT.

  24. Ceetar wrote: Not quite. I'm not talking about getting average pitchers and hoping Citi Field masks their deficiencies. It won't. They might give up less home runs, but they'll give up the same amount (or more) of line drives and runs. But Tim Lincecum should have less damaging fly balls than he would at Yankee Stadium. When a batter hits the ball in the air, there's less of a chance of it carrying out in Citi Field. Citi Field inhibits fly balls from being beneficial, but it's still average/good for line drives. There's always luck involved, but in general well struck balls/line drives are more likely to be hits, and fly balls are more likely to be outs. Good pitchers give up less line drives, and less of their fly balls will end up as home runs. though I'm not convinced players consider the park too hard when they sign. Lee went to Philly and CC went to Yankee Stadium. Then why is Citi considered a pitcher's park?
