  1. Did you feel the same way last preseason? It worked out pretty well for the Mets
  2. 1. 94-78 2. Mets Braves Phillies Nationals Marlins 3. Division Winner 4. The Amazing Mets of course 5. 41 Polar Popsicles 6. Soto
  3. 2 not 3. Thanks, Pete got hosed imho
  4. The whole thing was much a do about nothing. Pete lost a lot of effing money in this process The 3/54 is almost laughable
  5. Somewhere Joey Meneses is thinking "I'm gonna be the starting first basemen for the New York Mets!"
  6. I guess we're done blaming Nimmo for all of this The Alonso conundrum has become surreal Speaking of "conundrum" that was the title of a Jethro Tull live album of roughly the 1978 Songs from the Wood tour
  7. I am going on blind faith that Pete will remain a Met
  8. I'm guessing asymmetrical refers to the schedule of opt outs and a potential disruption to the roster down the road Paying a buyout when a player elects of his own volition to leave? Laughable Lamar Jackson of the Ravens took a ton of crap for being his own agent but he got paid very close to others expected number At the end of the day Boras works for Pete. Pete could take a look at Christian Walker's three year deal at roughly 3/70. Walker is older but they are very similar players I still think Pete will be a Met. Maybe Manaea can twist his arm at their private workouts LGM
  9. Secaucus agrees and adds Vladimir Jr's brother Vladi is already a Met
  10. I guess Minter fits here
  11. Martino went on that the Mets are done on Alonso They've signed Winker and now maybe a reliever, a top one Who knows but Pete's price seems to be going down?
  12. NY Post says today Alonso was offered 68-70 for 3 years And the Mets pivoted to Winker Sporting news is running Vladdy rumors to the Mets
  13. Blue Jays are looking to win this season. They are still in the Sasaki derby. You might hear some Vlad trade rumors at the deadline this season but not now I'm expecting the Mets to sign Anthony Santander At that point it becomes Pete are you on board or not?
  14. I hope he's not similarly using Gary Apple and Todd Zeile. Have we considered using Apple and Zeile to get this done? No chance on that?
  15. I've thought for months that it will take Cohen to step in and get a deal done. Time will tell
  16. Wittingly or unwittingly I believe Duquette got used by Boras and in at least until now the Mets have called his bluff
  17. I have no idea if Jim Duquette has any credibility on stuff like this. I don't remember him having any inside knowledge, but I also don't remember him being wrong about stuff like this. If it's true, I'm guessing it's just a matter of time until a deal is hammered out. Very true. He says Alonso is offering a 3 year deal with opt outs If true this smacks of desperation by Pete or a bleed blue desire to remain a Met
  18. My guess is Pete signs somewhere for one year and starts free agency over In 2026. In other possible news Vientos goes to first and Bregman becomes a Met
  19. I often see Pete turned down a Mets offer of 158 million Just speculation?? I don't think Pete is being obstinate at all. Boras maybe, not likely Pete
  20. This is my response
  21. This is my response
  22. It is not a stadium for Pete but it's mostly about the money I've been going under the assumption that Stearns does not want Pete back and failing an intervention by Cohen he goes elsewhere Sure feels like it to me at this point Washington Nationals sign free agent 1st basemen Josh Bell and another market falls away The Mets gave an obscene, almost irresponsible amount of money to Soto and now they nickel and dime a lifelong Met and current face of the franchise Grow some balls Stearns and sign the guy
  23. I believe the potential destinations for Pete are dwindling My not so magic 8 ball says 3/90 somewhere Not a terrible deal for Pete considering the next contract he signs could be for one year
  24. I sincerely hope Pete doesn't get left in the cold like Mike Conforto did It's starting to feel a bit chilly
  25. Pete likely has two, maybe three years production left as we know him He will likely not find the longer term deal he is seeking and would likely sign something acceptable to himself and the Mets I'm happy to have him back. Pete could turn out to be the "value" contract of the off season Juan Soto is on his fourth organization at age 26 which makes me wonder about him at least a little Without Pete's postseason homer 2024 lose much of t's touchy feely goodness, at least mine anyway I'd sign him off that. He also bleeds blue similarly to a guy who is having his number retired this summer Make it so
