And let's not forget the catastrophe of the pre-2002 trades. Mo Vaughn, etc.

Now let's get back to that most pressing need - the bullpen that crapped out on us in September.

What's done is done. I'm pleased that we have a pitcher of Santana's caliber. I'm just a risk-averse person when it comes to trades. It's always hard for me to pull the trigger on anything I'm not 100% certain on.

I thought this thread would be about why the parody contest is taking so long.

I was ecstatic about the Martinez signing. The difference is that then, we weren't giving anything up.

My problem is I'm afraid of Santana ending up going down the same road as Bartolo Colon. If he were three years younger I'd be happy.

I guess I'm the only one who isn't thrilled about the deal. I have a horrible feeling about this. The only consolation is that we kept Fernando Martinez. I could care less about Humber, but I'm furious that we traded Mulvey.

]Baseball Hall of Fame Game in Cooperstown will end after this year January 29, 2008 COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) -- The Baseball Hall of Fame Game, an annual tradition in Cooperstown, N.Y., for more than six decades, will end after this year's contest between the Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres. Hall of Fame officials say Major League Baseball decided keeping the game was too difficult because of the complexities of the major league schedule and "all its inherent challenges." The first Hall of Fame Game was in 1940, and its the last surviving in-season exhibition game on the major league schedule. This year's game is slated for June 16.

This is why I don't want to trade for Santana.

In Wrath of Khan, Khan says that he recognizes Chekov, when the episode Khan was in was during the first season. So for all we know, Chekov was in the bathroom the whole first season. There were over 400 people on the Enterprise, anyway.

Believe it or not, it's less than the major league average, which is about $2.85 million. I'm not too worried about it.

I'd love nothing more than to have Citigroup give back the naming rights. I'd like to think that we really don't need to give the naming rights away. We've done all right for 46 years without a corporate stadium name.
