    That's one part of the discussion. The other part of the discussion is about our own individual beloved Mets, and why we're endeared to them. It could be certain qualities they had, stats they put up, things they said, things they did, where they're from, personal experiences... whatever made you like them so much. Tell your stories about these players.

    Yahoo does indeed have waiting periods for waivers, trades and such. It also allows for team owners to vote on allowing each trade or not.

    5 DL spots may be too much... I'm gonna go ahead and say 3.

    Here's how we did it in my league this year: 2 x C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, CI, MI, 5 x OF, UT, 4 x SP, 3 x RP, 3 x P = 24 roster spots, plus 5 DL spots. This was in a 12-team league. One thing I would definitely change about this is having only one catcher per team, especially in a 20-team league.

    I agree. Team performance should have nothing to do with the MVP award. What should have to do with it, though, is whether the player is personally responsible for winning games: clutch hits, walk-off home runs, game-saving defensive plays, that kind of thing.

    All things I'm in favor of, Ralph. Let's get this subforum going and put it up for discussion.

    The New York Mets have been around for 44 seasons. Since they first took the field as a major league franchise, 771 players have appeared in a game as a Met (As diligently tabulated by the UMDB). Only a select few, however, will remain in the hearts of the Mets fans who rooted for them. Who are your most beloved Mets of all time? Who would you tell stories of, and add to Mets legend? Who is a true Met in your eyes?

    Yeah, I had an 8 AM Intro to American Politics class. I've only got a 2:20 Intro to Psychology class left today though.

    That's why I'm against trading young talent like we did with Jake-Monster and Petit. I like a team built from within, with chemistry and camaraderie.

    I think the Yankees/Braves thing to be a little bit silly myself, but I would never stoop to having Jeter or Chipper on my team.

    A snake draft would probably be more efficient. Yahoo's online draft system is fantastic, in my opinion, and would work great if we decide on a snake draft.

    Actually, if you look at the Bloopers of the Year, the Mets have 2 of the 10 nominees: Pedro getting soaked by the sprinklers and Koo striking out on three pitches without ever lifting the bat off his shoulder.

    When Johnny Cash is drunk in that auditorium, and falls over in his chair, and June Carter walks in and yells at them and says she's leaving the tour, there's a Hispanic-looking guy in a wifebeater playing the guitar and he says, "I don't see why any of you try playing like this" or something to that effect.

    I've done Yahoo Fantasy Baseball for years, and it's wonderful. I'm in.

    This was a very good film. Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon should get Oscar nominations. The actor who played Johnny Cash's father might also get a nomination. And how cool was it to see actors playing Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, and Ritchie Valens all in one movie?
