  1. If this thread was any more queer it would be in my asshole. Turn the ice dancing off, fellas.
  2. You're all welcome. IP limit is now 1450. I've been a commish for my other league using Yahoo since 2002 so it's pretty intuitive for me. And a league where no money (prizes or entry fees) changes hands is all the easier for me, not having to shake down a bunch of deadbeats for their transaction dues.
  3. I am open to changing it.... what's a better number?

I can do that. I think we should also try using the free agent blind bidding for waivers, which is a new Yahoo feature this year, instead of the generic "first come first served" method.
  5. That's a full house, kids. Nice and good luck to everyone.
  6. What's wrong is that part time players suck ass. Even with the pared down rosters, look at it like this: 16 NL teams x 8 positions = 128 position players 11 fantasy teams x 11 hitters per team (8 position players plus 1 extra IF, OF and UTIL) = 121 hitters Letting the seven worst hitters in the NL off the hook is not exactly making it easy.

I think the smarter/older players have learned what Jerry does and does not know, so hopefully they'll have learned when to listen, and when to ignore. I hope. You've got to know what's a rumor, know when to humor Know when to swing away, know when to bunt You never talk 'bout nuthin', when you're sittin' with an owie There'll be time enough for healin', when the season's done You missed a golden "Fman rhyme" moment right there friend.
  8. As many of you know, no beat reporter is closer to Carlos Beltran than I am... I'll take "Things Carlos Beltran's Mole Might Say" for $200, Alex.
  9. As per Rotoworld, Clifford the Big Red Floyd has taken a broadcasting job with Fox Sports Florida, I assume covering Marlins games in some format, while leaving an option open to come back and play if someone needs a "big lefty bat off the bench." Good luck Cliff.
  10. Agreed. 16 NL teams = 48 starting outfielders, 32 middle infielders and 32 corner infielders. 11 owners at 5 OFs = 55 OFs, 33 2B/SS and 33 1B/3B. Too many slots. So I will change it to 4 OFs and one extra infielder (CI or MI) per active team. Still also a Util spot. This should be a bit easier to field a full squad. Also the draft is now scheduled for Thursday, March 25th at 7:30 PM.

  12. Sorry, Vic. The earliest I could do it that day is 9:30 as that is my son's birthday. What about Thursday the 25th? Anyone object?
  13. OK, trying again. How about Monday the 22nd? OE: The 24th is my son's birthday, not available for me.
  14. Hope no one minds, I had to push the draft date back a week as I am on work travel the week of 15-19 March. If anyone can't draft on Tues March 23rd at 7:30 PM please let me know so I can set a new date/time.
  15. Ten owners, bad ass. I probably shouldn't give out one of my better NL only secrets, but ESPN has MLB depth charts where they project every team's starting lineup. It can help to find guys to fill that last few spots.
  16. willpie wrote: Last year was my first time doing NL-only, but IIRC, Yahoo defaulted to letting you keep the guy if he's already on your team, but you can't trade him or pick him back up if you drop him. This is correct. You can continue to get stats from that player but if you cut him he disappears from the pool of eligible players.
  17. Glad to see the league picking up more people. I like 10 teams for NL-only... last year I was in a 12 team NL only and literally every full time starter (and more guys that weren't even) was in an active lineup.
  18. metirish wrote: Endy Chavez to the Rangers , $1 million for 2010 if he makes the team ,2011 club option for $1.25 million. Good luck to him. How can you not root for the guy?
  19. Swan Swan H wrote: Lee's Eat Drink Man Woman is one of my favorite movies. The year Letterman hosted the Oscars he made a joke that "Eat Drink Man Woman" was how Arnold had asked Maria Shriver out for their first date. That joke is still funny.
  20. "Hey, Barry, you're right! HGH does taste just like Sunny D."

  22. You'd be better off sending wire transfers to Nigeria than giving your cash to that scheister.
