  1. He'll do. 3.63 ERA, 49 G, 48 IP, 9.30 K/9, 3.15 BB/9, 6 HR allowed
  2. 29 HR, 81 RBI, 101 R, 20 steals; .283/.340/.497
  3. DAMMIT. That Grandy guess is a good one. As for my next turn... the Butler did it? (#22)
  4. New Ween House, of Clan Kirk! [He says assuredly!] Play him at fullback, slap #22 on his rack
  5. Hot start in Syracuse, comes up for a week during a weird, we-thought-they-tested-positive-but-they-didn't IL week in June, PHs twice, and goes back down. Maybe does that again later in the year, to similar effect. Basically, Campbell's Soup, new recipe. 30 or so PAs at the major league level, at a .190/.250/.300 clip. In 'Cuse, though, that's a chunky .303/.380/.495 with 15 big honking, fence-clearing croutons.
  6. I would love to see him come all the way back. He was deGrom-level "fun to watch." Cosigned. It would exceedingly cool-- and weird-- to see him make that comeback as a veteran leader on a better-than-most-think Oriole team this or next season.
  7. =G-Fafif post_id=58633 time=1616691964 user_id=55] Tommy again is a lonely Hunter, released today.
  8. DANGIT, quit takin' my girl, Edge I'll go with Daryl the Late, Ton of Hamil. One of those 23s?
  9. Good thing I stepped out-- I was about to guess our little Firecracker myself. Instead, I'll go... Daryl, the Lesser, Ton of Bos. 16?
  10. Ryan, Son of Thomp... let's say, 17ish
  11. Lance of the Johnson Lances, 19
  12. We're on into softball bats here, where we're all still into not-so-heavy metal. Demarini appears to be the big, swinging bat in this aluminum/composite market, but legacy brands have a bit more staying power than with the wood (with Slugger, Easton, and Mizuno also in the top 5).
  13. 12 PPG/8.2 RPG, but with more turnovers and ill-advised passes than you'd like-- he's not a BALLHANDLER, guys. Oh, also, I'll play the usual JCL role: Used extensively in medium-leverage/multi-inning stuff in April, does well. Gets blown up a bunch in May, though and gets optioned for a bit. Back up in July or August, does a little better, but almost all in mop-up. 5.09 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 50-something innings, 8.8 K/3.5 BB. None of it is terribly surprising.
  14. Or it means plenty of contribution from the Villars and Guillormes already likely claiming a bench spot. I think he gets a call up for, like, a week and a half when Davis gets a ding on his dong. He'll get a hit in 5 ABs-- twice as PH, one day-game-after-night-game start. We'll forget he was a Met by October. (Grimm will forget by, like, August.)
  15. So, with all this talk of opening, and the floodgates apparently opening on vaccine access... is anyone tempting fate? Anyone besides us, I mean. I cashed in part of my ticket credit from last year, and got field-level tickets for the Friday night Phils game on 6/25, right after school ends and just before we take YoungerPooper to summer sleepaway camp (!) on Sunday. Depending on whether we can follow through on vaccine plans before Easter, we may pony up for something a little earlier, too.
  16. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Nobody gives poor Peterson any respect. The guy was 2nd best starter last year (out of two good ones, sure) and probably a top-5 performer overall and his reward? Gets his uni number slashed by 54 digits, and like 6 new competitors who all seem to have better reps and better chances. Just turning up the speed on the treadmill. He wants respect? Cool-- just do it again. Or something close to that. Elsewise, he can check out his first-round bonus, or whatever it bought him, and think happy thoughts.
  17. Edgy MD wrote: Ozzie, who had been having a big spring, is doing his best to get the Cards back into this one. Ozzie, who had been having a big spring against guys who are now in minor-league camp, seems to REALLY crave upstate NY livin'.
  18. Edgy MD wrote: After a big offensive inning for the Mets, they get a 1-2-3 lockdown inning from Jerry-Flo. He comes at hitters from a different angle than Loup. The way he and has locks are flowing this spring, I would NOT be crushed to seek him delay his SNY/MLBTV career another year.
  19. Walker looking solid as hell today, too. Good things generally happen for strike-throwers.
  20. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I'm optimistic about Walker. Today's start is bearing out that optimism.
  21. Not so yennsy season at AAA, ERA in the mid-4s, with flashes of interesting. Misses several injury-spurred busses down to NYC, in favor of guys like Eickhoff and Yamamoto.
  22. Fucking Germans. Fucking Upham, too, right? Speaking of fucking up 'Ham, well, that's what Carpio will do-- to the tune of a BABIP-fueled .300 average and .370 OBP-- before a late-season cup of cafe, COVID-rules allowing.
  23. Edgy MD wrote: Strong start by Stro', going five and giving up a single run on two hits, striking out six an walking none. A Kyle Shawarma solo shot was the only damage. Stro looks REEEEEEEEEEALLY good. That he and-- to a lesser extent-- most of the rest of our depth additions (Lucchesi, Yamamoto, and incumbent Peterson) look so solid is helping allay my growing, extended Cookie panic attack.
  24. Great early on, ends up stepping in by May by May, as secondary setup man-- with bases clean, preferably, thank you-- and performs like Edwin Diaz's little brother. Which is to say, he'll be similar to Edwin Diaz, only messier (more walks) and more annoying (many more walks). 61 IP, 68 K/33 BB, 3.69 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 8 HR allowed
  25. I feel like Carrasco had a REALLY unbreakable preexisting appointment or something during that first week or two of the season. If so... I admire his determination.
