  1. I still do not expect deGrom to throw a major-league pitch this year. Hope I'm wrong, but fear I'm right.
  2. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Luis Castillo goes tonight in Toronto-- betcha Mets scouts'll be there, good test against good club. I've never forgiven him for dropping that pop-up.
  3. =Gwreck post_id=93183 time=1653274176 user_id=56] If he's going to hit like this while also playing his usual fine defense, Eduardo is going to lose playing time.
  4. Carefully leaving out the 7 1/2 game lead with 17 to go in 2007.
  5. An 8-game lead and a 28-15 record. Which leads to the top question on every Met fan's mind.......how do they fuck this up?
  6. Fasten your seatbelts, Diaz on for the save.
  7. Having their starting pitcher barking at the umpire is usually a pretty good formula, too.
  8. Boy, rainouts are tough, aren't they?
  9. That doesn't make a lot of sense. Why warm him up and let him pitch an inning? They knew about the cancellation/doubleheader pretty early.
  10. 32 degrees in Denver right now, with this forecast: SAT 05/21 HIGH 47 °F 77% Precip. / 0 in Snow showers this morning. Peeks of sunshine later. High 47F. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Seems the immediate Denver area got 2-5 inches last night. Not even Ernie Banks would want to 'play two' today.
  11. First, the Marlins. They can pitch well, can hit a little and the Mets still have 19 games to play against them. Second, the Braves will do what it takes at the trading deadline. Remember there are 3 wild cards this year. Philly and the Nats I don't worry about. The concern is that the Mets will play down to their level. Missing your two best pitchers puts an enormous burden on the other three. They have to be almost perfect every time out. They're also injury risks.
  12. =G-Fafif post_id=92883 time=1652995140 user_id=55] Seven-game lead. Gotta defend it for the next six to eight or more weeks. Big win in that you need to win every game when your starter isn't a question mark. Also every win is big at this level (something Buck would probably say).
  13. Holy shit, something going that far should have a stewardess on it.
  14. Man, I thought Pujols had gotten that one.
  15. Don't like them letting the Cards hang around like this.
  16. They need to get a starter, stat. JD or Dom are on the block. Good thing they didn't trade for Paddock from SD as he's going to get TJ surgery.
  17. Left side discomfort? That could be anything.....
  18. Who is their 5th starter at this point? Williams?
  19. =kcmets post_id=92721 time=1652923795 user_id=53] Max pulls himself, can't be good news.
  20. I hope Guillorme is in the lineup. Run up that pitch count.
  21. Reason #11,547 why Buck is the manager and I'm not.
