  1. Breezed Mookie pretty good, but it worked. And he gets FFF, too.
  2. I was always under the impression that being able to hit a fastball was a minimum requirement for playing major league baseball.
  3. I bet Alonso's happy the Home Run Derby is in LA this year. I enjoyed Graterol's disbelief that the ball went out even though Pete just flicked at it.
  4. =roger_that post_id=94640 time=1654342219 user_id=128] Ok, maybe 11-2.
  5. (goes to DVR) (deletes Mets Fast Forward)
  6. Caught the fast-forward. Bleh. So they don't get an off-day flying to the west coast, but they DO get an off-day between San Diego and Anaheim. I guess to visit Disneyland.
  7. Personally, I'd be happy with a 6-7 stretch. It puts them at 41-24. After that it's 7 with the Marlins and 4 with the Astros to close out the month. They survive June in good shape, watch out.
  8. Hey, when you have Christie around the office, he's really AROUND the office😁. I don't have a problem with Uncle Steve having people he trusts in the organization. He's big into analytics, but he also hired a manager who does things his own way. It's hard to apply percentages, but all these things interlock. Cohen sets the tone and supplies the money. Buck has the team buying into his attitude and the fact that he always seems a few steps ahead. Comebacks from half the team help enormously. And Eppler found a few pieces they needed. Can't overstate Cohen allowing them to cut Cano loose. Jeff Wilpon couldn't have done that. That was an example that there would be accountability.
  9. A tough 13 games coming up against the Dodgers, Padres, Angels and Brewers back at Citi. So how well will they do?
  10. I usually catch a few innings and watch the DVR in the morning.
  11. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: I had the Buffalo Mac last night too. Tasted good, hard to mix the blue cheese on top in without it spilling, so you wind up eating blue cheese then the mac Yeah, it's crumbled on top and the cup is too narrow to mix properly. Still pretty good, and goes well with a Coney Island Pilsner.
  12. Observations from the first time I've been to Citi since 2019: Bunch of asshole Nats fans and one drunken Met fan, obnoxiously loud to the point where an usher actually came down to tell them to shut up. It gets old fast when someone yells that every pitch is a strike, even the ones that bounce. But when Nimmo came up they started shouting 'Let's Go Brandon!' like it was the biggest inside joke on the planet. Food good but jeez is it overpriced. Buffalo chicken mac and cheese was pretty damn good, though. $30 to park. I know the Jets are $50, but I guess Cohen needs to pay for those free agents somehow. And those wonderful new screens they gushed about just display ads nonstop. It was like playing in Draft Kings Stadium. Seaver statue was awesome in person, but it's impossible to get a good picture with it because of crowds and the fact that people sit all around the base without moving. As always, ear-splitting music between innings except when they're playing a stupid game. Actual trivia question: Who was the manager of the '69 Mets? Nats have the look of a team that's mailing it in. Which is okay right now. 6-0 homestand is awesome and it's nice for them to be firing on all cylinders heading to the west coast.
  13. I'm at the game, raising the average age a bit. Yes, at least 3 school groups. A lethargic crowd, waiting for a multiple-run outburst.
  14. Familia has always generated awkward contact from hitters, so he gets a lot of those kinds of plays. And yes, Hoskins doesn't lead him to the bag, not that he would have made it in time anyway.
