In other words, very few hitters in baseball are consistently hitting it harder. He isn't hitting it harder when he strikes out 50 times in 42 games.
  2. Plawecki burnishing his AAAA credentials.
  3. Good win for the good guys. But man, someone from the grounds crew is going to have to go out there and pick up every single one of those sunflower seeds tonight.
  4. Seriously, where would this team be without Cespedes? I don't even want to think.
  5. David hearing the boos after striking out looking.
  6. I have seen enough of Campbell. Please, no mas.
  7. Eddie Sez? Wow, that's dumb.
  8. Keith and Gary discussing the merits of various Impressionist painters. I love our broadcasters.
  9. That 18.00 ERA certainly dampens Ruben's Hall of Fame chances. Well, that and his .179 BA this year.

  11. You don't send someone to work on things in the PCL if you're trying to build up their cahnfidence. He should go to Port St Lucie or Binghamton if anywhere. Either way, I don't see him (or Boras) accepting a voluntary demotion. So he'll have to straighten things up here while the Mets go a player short (again).
  12. If they sweep the Brewers, I'll go without beer for a week. Well, okay, an afternoon.
  13. I get that anybody can go 2-24. What's alarming are the strikeouts- 48 K's in 117 AB's. It's one thing if you're going to hit 40 home runs, but he's not.
  14. I think skipping a start is in order. I wouldn't want him going out there against the Nats again in 4 days. If there's nothing physical (The Guys haven't picked up on anything that could be injury-related), then he needs to work on stuff on the side with Warthen. All his pitches seem to be up. Now that being said, I think there's a mental component too. He seemed to give up after the flubs in the field. Very Niese-esque, and that's not where you want to be. Clear the mechanism.

An article in Men's Health detailed his regimen, and it made me tired just reading it. But backs just don't get better. At some point it just won't be worth it. I think he'll try to play the 2017 season at a reduced capacity, but that'll be it.
  16. Throwback Thursday.....all the way to 1962.
  17. Boy, Strasburg was just toying with them there.
  18. I have much sad about David. This isn't working.
  19. If Harvey coughs up a hairball tonight there could be adverse fan reaction, methinks.
  20. Benjamin Grimm wrote: It's not really real until the CPF's "Baby Mama Watch" thread reports on it. I'm guessing she's more 'Pole Dancer' than 'Schoolboy Sweetheart'.

  22. Let's hope Bartolo has gotten that whole 'give up lots of runs in the first two innings' thing out of his system.
