It would just be interesting if there was some gender-bending under the big head with the ponytail. Of course Mr. Met himself could be inhabited by a woman. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Man, how many days til pitchers and catchers?
  2. Wow, a tough one. I was at the 12-run game and it was awesome. But I went with Seeds, because it was good to see David Wright smiling.
  3. I like Blevins, but there's no way I give him 3 yrs/$18 million. If he gets it somewhere else, Mazel Tov.

I'm wondering how he's going to be able to answer complex foreign policy questions about things like the South China Sea and the threat of North Korea. He'd also likely come to my office to meet with my boss at some point. Bobby's a smart guy. I'm betting that he'd be a lot more on point in any hearing than a lot of other nominees will be. He dealt with the New York beat writers for 6 years, a couple of Senators will be a cakewalk by comparison. lol at the double switch.
  5. Can he take Steve Phillips with him?
  6. Because we're officially through the farking looking glass now anyway, there are worse choices. Surprised he'd give up his guest analyst spot on SNY for this, though.
  7. All depends on the health of those arms. I'd feel better if Sandy had traded Bruce for something useful; but he got the Cespedes deal done, so he gets some zlack. For now.
  8. It's spring training. It'll probably be the only time any of us will actually see him in a Mets uni live. And if he gets a hit, he may never go back to Chisholm, Minnesota and become the town doctor.
  9. Betting he'll get an at-bat in one of those Channel 11 spring games, and strike out on 3 pitches.
  10. Looks like Pete booked a trailer instead.
  11. Dave deBusschere pitched (fairly decently) for the White Sox, going 3-4 with a 3.09 ERA and 10 starts in 1962-63, all while playing for the Detroit Pistons as well.

  13. Well, he can buy all the weaponry he needs to threaten his girlfriend now.
  14. Hmm. McCutchen would look really good in this lineup, but whither Conforto if that happens? You have to assume Bruce gets traded and Grandy moves back to RF.
  15. So far the off-season's playing out pretty well. Glad Sale isn't a Nat and Ramos is moving on. Melancon to the Giants is a little concerning, as their bullpen was their Achilles heel. Wade Davis to the Cubs replacing Chapman is a wash. Red Sox will be loaded. And they don't look like they're done. Gonna be tough to be a Yankee fan next year. (Awwwww) One of the possible landing spots for McCutchen was the Rangers, but signing Carlos Gomez for CF closes that off. So it increases the DC possibility. I'm betting Cutch has a bounceback year and I'd hate for it to be for the Nats.
  16. I just don't understand all this fuss about that guy who was on Scrubs.
  17. Yowza! Well, Nats will be all-in on Cutch now.
  18. Edgy MD wrote: Duane Below spends a second season getting no calls from the Mets. All you SfS participants who saw that coming, congratulate your bad selves. Not predicted by anybody, but still notable: He led the PCL in homeruns allowed. So for people in the bleachers it was "Look out, Below!"
  19. Doing that will make it hard for them to acquire McCutchen, I would think, because I think one or both of them was in any Pittsburgh deal.
  20. Geez, I'd hope we could get more for Bruce than this.
  21. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: RELIEVE is hilarious: The KC logo that gets pissed on; the Harvey macho posturing as though he just finished using it (with his glove on!); the terrible pun that's also Met-related; the extra digs in the subhead: Flushed, "hold it in." I'll bet Harvey irl does pump his fists after peeing. How on Earth can it lose to a crappy inset photo of a pig? All this and more.
  22. Tyler Moore? Twins need to pick him up.
  23. None of which are former strippers like Anna.
  24. Plawecki gets another taste of the Vegas nightlife. At least until the inevitable d'Arn-owww injury. Russell Martin...yeah, no.
  25. Uh-oh-ho-ho. Playing Santa is a curse. Syndergaard should stay far away. And he'll never be able to top this anyway.
