  1. The DP helped, but Jacob's looking a bit deFective.
  2. They'll claim him back when the Jays cut him.
  3. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Hopefully Dallas Braden will carry the ball now, and will still be broadcasting Sunday night games on ESPN 40 years from now. I have a severe case of Bradenphobia.
  4. I'd like a wide-awake offense, please.
  5. Hostile crowds are already forming near you! Bring me the head of Aaron Boone!
  6. Is Bob McClure going to jog all the way to Cobb County? Just wondering.

As I've said before, the network is the bigger problem than the announcers themselves. ESPN doesn't think you tune in to watch a ballgame, they think you tune in to watch how they present it. The game, in their mind, is secondary to whatever pre-planned gimmicks and promos they've got up their sleeves. Everything that's on ESPN is about what else is on ESPN. And this is exactly it. I don't care about what these guys think about non-game things or the stupidly contrived things they do. If I heard 'win-percentage' one more time, I was going to put my foot through the screen. I'm there to watch a baseball game. The Mr. Met Twitter war stuff was just embarrassing. Mr Met had the courtesy to at least shut up as the action in the inning was actually heating up. God, they're so stupid. I guess somebody did a focus group that told them that this is what people want to see. Have to figure out a workaround for the next ESPN broadcast because I can't go through that again. I'll probably just listen to Howie and Josh, old-school.
  8. Heavens to Mergatroid. "Cespedes with the lime-green sleeve". Do these people ever watch baseball?
  9. Omigod. They're doing the Mr Met Twitter fight. With Mr. Met. Just kill me now.
  10. And just like that, 3-2. Then, nice gun by Rivera.

"Oh yeah, the Mets are 100% going to win this game!"- in the second inning. Douche. The names may change, but the suck remains.
  12. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA where's my Snickers?
  13. Problem is, the other guys seem to be out of bed and hitting just fine.
  14. Nobody wants Ty except Terry (and maybe Israel). He should clear and resume life in Vegas.
  15. I like Salas. He's sneaky good.
  16. metirish wrote: DOes anyone else have FiOS and does their feed on SNY look like a bad stream on a PC?. I am watching the game but it looks like a feed I cast to the TV from a PC, choppy etc. I noticed this a few games last season . I have checked other live sports channels and they are fine I have Fios and everything looks fine. Including that sheepish grin from deGrom when he struck out Bart.

  18. Thoughts from the left field stands: Thor was good, but Teheran was just as good. But in a battle of the bullpens, I had a lot more confidence. Not 6-runs-in-an-inning confidence, but enough. The game-ending double play was awesome- need to see the replay. The scoreboard was completely screwy today, impossible to follow for long stretches. Russian hackers? In the middle of the 8th, Cespedes threw a ball into the stands and exactly the right guy caught it, giving it to his kid. Considering the Drunken Asshole factor was high in our section, he had perfect aim. Ladies bathrooms were disgusting so sez the Missus. Took forever to get into the park; you'd think they'd have this whole security thing down by now. Not enough wands, so women had to wait longer than the men to get in. Sexism! Concession stands were also atrocious, and there are fewer condiment stands than in recent years. Maybe Fred thought we were using too much relish. But hey! Magnetic schedule! All in all, a Met win makes for a fun day.
  19. That's not a terrible Braves lineup. Let's hope Thor makes them LOOK terrible, though. Problem is, Teheran positively owns the Mets during his career. I'll be there in the left field stands and I'm getting pumped. Let's get this party started.
  20. 83-79. Injuries. No playoffs, obviously. Yes, it's pretty pessimistic but I got a bad feeling Matz is the tip 'o the iceberg.
  21. Edgy MD wrote: Not for nothing, but Colon has a 9.20 ERA this spring. Maybe he'll sort it out and work his way through another unflappable season, but nothing lasts forever. Not sure, but I think he had a few lousy springs with the Mets, too. Don't bet against Bartolo.
  22. I believe the police noticed some scratches when they responded to the call. Just get it over with already.
