  1. A Met fan gets a home.
  2. Niese - 4 Duda - 3 d'Arnaud 3
  3. Those were my answers too, and I caught that Ralph was one. Was Stan the other? But if they could knight Americans, he wouldn't be Sir Kiner, he'd be Sir Ralph.
  4. Colon 6 Cuddyer 3 Murphy 1
  5. That strikeout pitch by Montero was wicked.
  6. Do the people at Lee's Toyota think they're going to sell a lot of cars to Met fans by using a cute girl in a Yankee uniform as their spokesperson?
  7. John Thorn has a piece from Westbrook Pegler on ghosting the Babe.
  8. Harvey 6 Wright 2 d'Arnaud 2
  9. Has to be eyes. The pitcher puts everything he's got on the ball, and my only defense against what he's got is my batting eye - being able to see the ball clearly enough to hit it.
  10. The Mets have a Tyler Moore in their organization too? How many MTM fans were out there a couple of decades ago?
  11. http://ourgame.mlblogs.com/2015/04/09/babe-ruths-autobiography-as-written-in-1920-section-iv/
  12. They'd be my choices.
  13. Well, walking makes sense. If you're working the count, staying away from bad pitches, a walk is a desired outcome. But if you're just going deep into the count because it's the in thing to do, you're going to have two strikes on you a lot of times when you didn't really need to, and then suddenly you've gotta swing and Bob's your uncle. Whereas one of those early pitches that you let go by because that's what you're s'pozed to do might have been the one to hit.
  14. Not sure I agree with Lunchie's Note 5. If working deep counts is gospel, I say start swinging at the first pitch. Especially since so many guys who work deep counts end up striking out.
  15. Colon 4 d'Arnaud 3 Familia 1 Torres 1 Carlyle 1
  16. Will this be the last we see of Gilmartin?
  17. Somehow there's something cosmically wrong with a Mets-Red Sox game in which the Red States x have a center fielder named Mookie.
  18. Was afraid of that, after his last outing. Are they worried?
  19. When did they move Josh Edgin to the outfield?
  20. I just tuned in to hear ...but they're holding him out because of a sore elbow. Who are they holding out?
  21. One of them ends up at first base.
  22. Got the game on my car radio on WOR - I guess MLB At Bat has the internet rights, so WOR on TuneIn can't carry it. I got used to the Rangers, who are on ESPN radio even on TuneIn. I've re-upped for MLB At Bat now. Eventually, I got to the gym and saw the latter part of the game on TV while on the treadmill. It was baseball, and it was the Mets, and it was wonderful, even with some sloppy play in the field. Happy Harvey Day!
