    Bagwell, Larkin, Trammel.

I still think Thole can grow into the job, but if they can get a veteran backup who can hit, call a game, and throw out base runners, I really don't care what they pay him. It's not my money.

    So who's on second?

Let's hope Reyes can be gotten for a Metly price.

Arnie Gooch appears to be an instructor at the Indoor Dugout baseball academy in Philadelphia. There's an Arnold Gooch on Facebook. Could be the same guy. From PA, as is our Arnie Gooch. Jonathan Hurst.

Rooting for the NL, rooting against Texas, rooting against the DH. Not rooting against Nolan Ryan. Rooting for original team vs expansionists. And I kinda like LaRussa. What's the negativity toward him about? I think I've asked this here before.

    Tigers all the way.

    Four managers with Metly connections.

Are there two pitchers named Whitenton?

When did Peoria get moved to Arizona?

I'll sign up and try to actually do it this year. I won't be grading term papers.

    Ditto. Great job, thanks.

    NL East.

I kind of hate both, but the Rays did knock off a fat cat.

Does Terry feel terrible about every other regular he's given the day off to during September so he can look at the callups? Why has this non-issue become an issue?
  21. Theoldmole
Because Reyes is so much less valuable to the Mets than he'd be to another club, naturally they'd want to offer him less?
  22. Theoldmole
I voted Mets, because if he doesn't come to the Mets, what do I care where he is?
  23. Theoldmole
Grimm, this is why I love this place.

I read an interview with Wes Covington once, where he said that when he was a teenager, before he made the commitment to baseball, he sang with a local harmony group that later formed the nucleus of the Platters. This wouldn't be so odd -- there's a real correlation between music and baseball. Best job of blending the two -- Arthur Lee Maye. rccL5QSx60g

And he has that weird batting stance.
