  1. The lyrics were unchanged. I just used more than one player. I thought there had been precedent for that. If no, then I am clearly terrible with directions.
  2. I'm not sure what I'm doing. But I'll bail.
  3. Xavier Nady and James McCann Were back in the alley tradin' hands 'Long came Lee Mazzilli with his friend Jim Mann All duded up for Saturday night
  4. I think his outfielding at all three spots is pretty nicely demonstrated in the reel above. His backhand snags in left are especially impressive. Like Juan Lagares, his pro career began in the infield. I don't know that I'd say that he's great, but the athleticism is certainly impressive. 7. Bernazard was told he shouldn't come around here Now he's yelling at the players in his underwear Adam Rubin, how's it goin? Here's a story to share So tweet it! Just tweet it! OOH!
  8. I disagree that money doesn't mean anything to Steve Cohen. Beyond that, an unwise move for the team is an unwise move for the team, even if his wealth is enormous. I'm sure that he'd agree at some level.
  9. Hey, Baerga wasn't 100% wrong. I can breathe. He was right about that.

  11. =Centerfield post_id=116448 time=1673372418 user_id=65] Mind boggling that Steve Cohen would make public comments before seeing the physical. Unless Boras held something back, it's inexplicable.
  12. Yeah, I think the difference is speedy regulars vs speed specialists. The former have a better life but an unhappy job of trying to convince the world they deserve it. They have to keep afloat the illusion that they are more than their speed, even if they sometimes doubt, as their speed ebbs in tiny increments every day. The latter never have the job security of the former. They have one single ticket to the show, they know it, and every day on a major league roster is stolen, and so they enjoy their wins that much more. Every day with them is Douglas Fairbanks with a fencing foil trying to fight an army to escape the gallows. Their ultimate doom is so assured that they breathe that much more sweetly every brief illusory breath of freedom. Vince Coleman is Prince Humperdink or Count Rugen and Tim Locastro is Westley or Inigo. All are great swordsmen, but to what end?
  13. It'll be interesting to see how far a landscape shot and lede can go.
  14. I'd smile if I could steal your breakfast before you knew it had been served. It's not just the smile, though. It's the jaunty scarf they all wear. So flamboyant! https://deadline.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/speedy-gonzales.jpg?w=600>
  15. It's also being replaced like this — leaving the sword of Damocles dangling there for a month.
  16. Still on the free agent market, best as I can tell. So is Jankowski for that matter, best as I can tell.
  17. That's impressively confident, considering the year is only nine days old.

Sam is an extreme groundball pitcher, which will probably be a good thing to be when pitching in the southwest. 19. Edgy MD first.
  20. I think he's joining Syracuse as a bench coach.
  21. The Mets have minor-league signed journeyman speed demon outfielder Tim Locastro away from the Yankees. Locastro, a Syracuse native and an Auburn High School grad, is, like, Mr. Central New York, and will likely spend more time defending his home turf than playing for the Mets. He's 30, so it's hard to say how much he has left in his wheels, but he has stolen 39 of 44 bases in the majors (88.6%) and 178 of 218 in the minors (81.6%). Back in 2019 and 2020, he was frequently tagged with the Fastest Player in Baseball label, and that isn't that long ago. While he's rarely hit enough to stick at the big league level, he's had his moments, and also is a notorious pin-cushion, getting hit by 37 pitches in 247 big league games, with a plunk total of 247 at all professional levels. 22. AAAA lefty who got caught on the waiver carousel this season. Was with the Nats, waived, claimed off waivers by the Phils on July 5, waived again without so much as a minor league appearance for Reading, claimed by the Mets on July 10, making him property of three NL East teams in less than a week. More fortuitously, he was falling upwards in the standings. Precipitously. Or maybe the opposite of precipitously. I'm not sure if precipitously works both ways. He labored nobly for a few weeks for Fman in Syracuse, and got the old 27th-man callup for a doubleheader. As noted, his only appearance was pitching the ninth inning of a win. If you're going to throw only one inning, you might as well get a handshake from the catcher afterwards. In some cases, that's better than sex.
  23. One inning finishing up an 8-2 victory over the Phils in Game One of an August doubleheader, and then no more play for Mr. Clay. Signed away a MONTH ago by Arizona. https://securea.mlb.com/images/players/action_shots/621348.jpg>
