  1. Something is going to have to give, but it's unlikely to simply be Vientos for Wendle. The team had already been shorthanded, playing with a single backup infielder before Vientos arrived. If they're going to go back to only five infielders, it's unlikely that the fifth will be a guy who hasn't played shortstop since he was 17, and hasn't played second at all. It could happen, but it would sure make their versatility problem worse.
  2. He apparently had been sent home sick by Mendoza. I'm also curious if Lindor's slide resulted in any damage.
  3. Look, if anyone who gets paid for their outlooks expected anything from me, there would have already been a thread about me. But they were all wrong. I'm Reed Garrett, and I'm not only killing it out of the pen, I'm killing it out of the pen (a) in two-inning stints, ( in a time when starting pitchers are getting hooked early, and © for a team that strikes late. All this adds up to a hell of an opportunity to earn decisions. And holy heck, am I. Currently at 5–0 with a save through my first 14 2/3 innings, I'm on a torrid pace for an all-time team-best 30–0 record with six saves. That could turn around at any moment. The fates are fickle, and I'm subject to them just the same as you, despite my awesomeness, but again, the experts have had no clue, so I turn to you. At the end of the line, what is my season going to look like? 4. Joey Wendle was unavailable. Wow.
  5. Mets get the walkoff from Vientos but don't have a sideline reporter working the game to interview him.
  6. [bIGPURPLE]ALL I WANNA DO IS ZOOMA-ZOOM-ZOOM-ZOOM IN A BOOM BOOM!![/bIGPURPLE]
  7. Mets not pinch-running Wendle or a pitcher for Stewart.
  8. Did Keith just call Mike Sarbaugh "Pop Warner"?
  9. Winning run on third with the infield back, then bunt, bunt, and bunt.
  10. Not bunting with Lindor.
  11. Garrett in a position to get his fifth win.
  12. =Cowtipper post_id=153618 time=1714334950 user_id=166]He's 30 and geriatric now.
  13. J.D. wears his first name initials on his uniform!!
  14. I'm not seeing the same slider or the same fastball for Diaz, but he's getting it done.
  15. Well, he got the big out. And maybe got our shortstop hurt in the process.
  16. Well, we get the equivalent of a sacrifice bunt.
  17. Let's bunt with DJ if the infield plays back.
  18. I also like Lindor spiking his bat after the walk. My analytics support that move.
  19. I'm an analytics guy, and I supported the move.
  20. STRIKEOUT!!! His first time through eight as a Met. Here's to you, Qbert!! And a glass raised to Mendoza for sticking with him! Now let's win it for them.
