1. The Mets did keep track.
2. All of our first three batters hitting the ball on the screws.
3. Third straight dubble for Delroy Lindor.
4. But bless these six-pitch opening innings for Mets pitchers.
5. Damn these ugly new black tops.
6. So much for this thread, huh? Mets are apparently coming home with the same team that got spanked on the road. The only transaction was the Adcockian addition to the 40.
7. Quit my job down at the car wash. Didn't have to write no-one a good-bye note.

He was a true two-way athlete in college, garnering more homeruns than saves, but for some reason, professional baseball discourages that sort of thing.
10. The train you want to derail is the one in Philadelphia. The Braves are six games out.
11. I salute Lindor on his two consecutive PotW trophies, even if a total of 4.71 suggests a lean week. I marvel that, even though I'm far more stingier than the mean with voting points for starting pitchers, no starting pitcher has yet taken home a PotW. March we onward.
12. I think the Czech Republic team was largely an exception to the rule as (again, I think, if I remember correctly) they only included one player who wasn't Czech-born. In fact, one of their players, catcher Martin Cervenka, ended up playing for the Syracuse Mets.
13. What we need is some more smokin' hot Vinny Nittoli action.
14. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Sandy played transactions like a master DJ, always knowing what beat to put down and when. I don't care if it was house, techno, dub, or whatever 1000-BPM shit he was throwing down, that guy could spin like a cross-fading monster, and I really miss him. When he was behind the deck, shit got sick. https://metsrostercentral.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/dj-sandy.png>
15. Am I crazy in thinking something's got to give before the homestand starts? It's not very scientific, but I feel like managments tend to make moves at such junctures, if only to demonstrate to the fans that they are engaged and proactive.
16. Yeah, I've certainly considered their Stearnsian provenance, but that's sort of a key test for an executive, right? The strength to move on from your own initiative? I salute Taylor, I just know something's gotta give in the roster situation, and Taylor's contract may have some market value.
17. That's my kind of analysis.
18. The Mets have a day and a half extra time to make adjustments before they return home to host giants. It's probably not crazy to think they're going to stick their fingers in the batter a little bit. But what? I tend to think the list of potential uniform changes will be limited to pitchers, catchers, infielders, outfielders, and coaches, but after that, it's anybody's guess. I already speculated on the teetering status of Adrian Houser, Omar Narváez, and Tyrone Taylor (who has largely been disused, and looks rusty when he is deployed, but probably has value to somebody), and possibly one of the 11 coaches devoted to batting. Y.n.a.g.a.y.t.y.a.w.y.w./Y.n.a.b.a.y.t.y.a.w.y.l., and all that. Most underperforming guys, of course, aren't as bad as they are playing, but it becomes a matter of how much of how much damage they are allowed to do in trying to get right. Obviously, what can realistically be done at this point is limited, but you are smart, and you can think fo somethign.
19. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=156227 time=1716416412 user_id=68] =Cowtipper post_id=156226 time=1716415223 user_id=166] Garrett was bound to come down to earth eventually.
20. José iglesias went 3-for-4 this evening with a double, a. homer, two runs scored, and four RBI. Two of those ribbies scored with two out, and I'm a believer that he's a Met by Friday night.
21. Well, whoever made the decision to push him past the more-seasoned-and-higher-performing-but-younger Vientos in the pecking order made a call that seemingly hasn't served anybody well.
22. I didn't mean to suggest it was upsetting to José Quintana.
23. Anybody else agree that throwing a one-hitter, facing the minimum number of batters, on an impressively low pitch count, José Quintana seemingly made unnecessary trouble for himself by plunking Fry with seeming intent? The turning point didn't follow immediately, but follow it did.
24. Two doubles in his last two trips, and Lindor has exited.
25. And as I type, Tyrone Taylor pinch-hits for Narváez in the ninth against a righthander — about as decisive a demonstration of Mendez' respect as we can look for.
