  1. Ah, I'm too slow with my stupid graphic lineup table. Check out Luis Arráez. The Pads strange policy of hording as many star middle-infielders as possible — acquiring a new one every offseason and another new one ever mid-season — has put them in the weird position of deploying Luis at first base, like he's Rod Carew or Pete Rose or somebody. On the Mets' side, Poor Brandon Nimmo is playing Mike Kekich to Francisco Lindor's Fritz Peterson. They swapped lineup spots, but it only worked out for Lindor, and now poor Nimmo has no future batting third but can't go back home to the leadoff spot.

  3. Rashomony is a good word. It kind of sounds like a name for what Toshiro Mifune had to pay his ex-wife for support every month.
  4. Oh, you were clear. I was just doubling down on your point. Hey, maybe that's how we alienated Met Fairy.
  5. Oh, and hey! The Tommy Pham deal brought in wondrous teenage infielder Jeremy Rodriguez, who is the walking, talking embodiment of awesome. At only 17, he is currently to The Florida Complex League what https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=rodrig007jerVlassic is to pickles. Like, when he goes to the ballpark, Robin Yount, George Brett, and Cal Ripken all fight over who gets to carry his bags and shine his shoes.
  6. Trading and Scherzer and Verlander was very much the opposite of salary relief. They ate a lot of that salary and still have a lot of munching to do.

  8. The Mets gained on the Nats, the Pirates, and Cubs — the three teams immediately in front of them in the standings — last night. They pulled within a game and a half of the first two and two games of the last. Destiny is within grasp. It's for the Mets to grab. It's for the rest of us to show them how.
  9. I like when she finds her buttons.
  10. Rich Gossage: 37 career starts, 16 complete games.
  11. It is, indeed. The game turns into payback of sorts for the game the Marlins stole against the Mets when Diaz blew a four-run lead in the ninth. It also serves payback of sorts for Diaz, as he ends up the winning pitcher.
  12. Starling should have [CROSSOUT]squeezed[/CROSSOUT] [CROSSOUT]squoze[/CROSSOUT] squozen on the 3-1 pitch.
  13. I'd'a pinch-run for J.D. here.
  14. Muñoz yanked after 81 pitches? Um ... thanks!!
  15. =kcmets post_id=159094 time=1718326158 user_id=53] I think there was bouncing off base. Don't quote me.

  17. Bader went into his slide too early there.
  18. Let's get a few heare and get Sevy out with a lead.
  19. It'd be nice if Sevy could somehow induce the Mets to get a guy on base.
  20. Bases loaded here in the fourth and the Marlins on-deck hitter is about 50 feet outside of the circle. 22. I'm pretty certain that I'm the one who alienated Fairy. She was cool to me for a year before she quit.
  23. The Autumn of 2022. We lost Seawolf in August and LWFS in October.
