  1. Among other things, Pete's been afflicted with what Keith would call a serious case of Archie Bell & the Drells.
  2. Frayed Knot wrote: Lowest OPS of his career ... by a lot: 770, previous low in a full season was 821 last year. Career avg 2019-2023 = 870 Overall his BA is 14 points below his career [.238 vs .251] and his OBA down 22 pts [.320 vs .342] But the slugging is where things are really taking a hit: .450 SlgA vs his career .528 19 HRs (12 of them in Apr & May) on pace for 32. Previous low in a full season is 37 (2021) Now 30+ bombs still makes him a slugger -- Isolated Power = .190 vs the MLB norm of .154 -- just not an elite one and not what he had been prior to this year: 277 You left out the part where he's tighter than a duck's ass.
  3. =MFS62 post_id=162993 time=1721396737 user_id=60] =nymr83 post_id=162986 time=1721394843 user_id=54] =MFS62 post_id=162977 time=1721392383 user_id=60] Mets have signed catcher Logan Porter to a major league (40 man roster) deal. No announcement on how they will make room on the 40 man. Later
  4. J.D. carried the team when the baton was in his hand. Maybe it's somebody else's turn. But he got a walk and a sacrifice fly tonight, and tattooed the ball in the ninth. I'm more concerned about Alonso. I don't see the bat speed, and I don't see him capitalizing on balls left over the plate.
  5. McNevin's OPS has been under .600 — which I like to think of as The Ordóñez Line — for the last month, and now, after one SHaM game, it's up to .622.
  6. So, hey, maybe the guy they need to add for the second half has been in uniform all along. You can't project much of anything from one game, but ... what a game by McNumbles.
  7. Weird game. A lot of hard-hit balls turned into outs on both sides. But the Marlins converted more of them. Manaea really came up empty. They clobbered anything he put over the plate.
  8. Man, my connection went dead for the last 20 minutes and that's why the Marlins scored.
  9. This is awesome baseball.
  10. Martinez plates number two, and a walk to Pete gets the pitcher hooked. NOT LOST YET!!
  11. =ashie62 post_id=163095 time=1721434671 user_id=90] Losing the last game before the break and first after the break does not build Kahnfidence
  12. Meanwhile Citi Field being used tonight for the fighting of foo.
  13. Haven't really recovered from Alonso's GiDP, though they've made some good contact. From the Marlins side, it might be 8-0 if not for McNiblet's defense.
  14. Get Chisolm out of there.
  15. Manaea not really fooling anybody. Liners all over the place.
  16. I kinda thought Vientos got his hand in there, but I can't be the only one who'd rather see him coming up with two on and one out than Alonso.
  17. We're a happy family! We're a happy family! We're a happy family! Pete grounds into a DP! We're a happy family! We're a happy family! We're a happy family! Pete grounds into a DP! But McNizzlies is here to play. He's a ballplayer and that's what he does.
  18. That is a tight race!! Non-qualifying Francisco Álvarez (considerably more non-qualifying than Martinez) leads them all at .479. Even more impressive non qualifiers include Luis Torrens (.547 in 57 plate appearances), Mark Vientos (.549 in 199 plate appearances) and José Iglesias (.582 😮 and a #1 hit record in 84 plate appearances).
  19. 1. OPS? Álvarez 2. home runs? Alonso 3. RBI? Álvarez 4. Pitcher wins? Senga 5. Pitcher strikeouts? Senga 6. Saves? Fujinami 7. Who is the SHaMVP? Álvarez
  20. I have a doctor's appointment to get to. Here's Day Three of the Draft plus some bonus stuff, without the sparkling commentary Transactions, 7/16/2024 [th]Direction[/th][td90]COMING[/td90][td90]COMING[/td90][td90]COMING[/td90][td90]COMING[/td90][td90]COMING[/td90] [th]Transaction [/th][td90]Selected as 11th-Round Pick (323rd Overall) in 2024 Amateur Draft out of SUNY-Binghamton[/td90][td90] Selected as 12th-Round Pick (353rd Overall) in 2024 Amateur Draft out of Kansas[/td90][td90] Selected as 13th-Round Pick (383rd Overall) in 2024 Amateur Draft out of Oregon[/td90][td90] Selected as 14th-Round Pick (413th Overall) in 2024 Amateur Draft out of Texas[/td90][td90] Selected as 15th-Round Pick (443rd Overall) in 2024 Amateur Draft out of Houston[/td90] [th]Position Group [/th][th]=#BF80FF] Infielders[/th][th]=#FF8000]Relief Pitchers[/th][th]=#FF0000]Starting Pitchers[/th][th]=#FF0000]Starting Pitchers[/th][th]=#FF8000]Relief Pitchers[/th] [th][/th][td90][fimg=90]https://binghamtonbearcats.com/images/2023/9/26/roselli_nick_web_l4hPi.jpg?width=300[/fimg][/td90][td90][fimg=90]https://metsrostercentral.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/lanthier-ethan-2024.png[/fimg][/td90][td90][fimg=90]https://images.sidearmdev.com/crop?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdxbhsrqyrr690.cloudfront.net%2Fsidearm.nextgen.sites%2Fuoregon.sidearmsports.com%2Fimages%2F2024%2F1%2F26%2FGordon__RJ.JPG&width=180&height=270&type=webp[/fimg][/td90][td90][fimg=90]https://dxa7m90h2v1am.cloudfront.net/images/2024/1/18/11_witt_tanner-2024.jpg?width=300[/fimg][/td90][td90][fimg=90]https://images.sidearmdev.com/crop?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdxbhsrqyrr690.cloudfront.net%2Fsidearm.nextgen.sites%2Fuhcougars.com%2Fimages%2F2023%2F8%2F28%2FWoodward_Owen.jpg&width=180&height=270&type=webp[/fimg][/td90] [th]Name [/th][td90]Nick Roselli [fimg=50]https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2023/12/usa_m.png[/fimg][/td90][td90]Ethan Lanthier [fimg=50]https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2023/12/usa_m.png[/fimg][/td90][td90]R.J. 21. You're forgetting José Butto, who has been such money since moving to the bullpen that he might end up Lugo-ing up his careeer and getting stuck there.
  22. Got ill will for another poster? Please take it to the Red Light Forum.
  23. You should have seen him in his fifties.
