  1. Yankees had second and third and one out in the top of the ninth, but the Guards (a) didn't have the infield in enough, and ( didn't handle the ball when the infield squib happened. Yankz up by one.
  2. Mark Leiter was afraid to throw Naylor a strike, but Naylor chased and chased. Also, if I haven't already noted this, the Guardians' Marathon Petroleum patch may be the fugliest of them all.
  3. All tied up on some dubious Yankee fielding.

Winker didn't get to 2nd on a ball off the wall and Acuna doesn't score from 3rd on a GiDP ... and FOX never showed nor mentioned either. Someone above said the pitcher looked Acuna back but, even so, that's a go on contact play IMO. If they throw home you're almost certainly out but it kills the DP and you've still got a RiSP w/1 out. If they opt for the DP instead then it's a free run. And, hey, LAD might be so surprised that they eff up the play entirely. Hey, I wasn't justifying, just describing it. Rookie mistake. Talent of youth without wisdom of years.

You burn two players, and even a slow runner on 3rd with none out is likely to score. He was on first when he checked in, and then burned ass to third on the next hit.
  7. Seems to me that Woody was the way to go. When Mike Elias took over the Orioles in 2018, he let go of almost the entire scouting staff, but kept Guthrie. I imagine he's going to get a pretty senior position with the Mets. Also worth noting that The Baltimore Banner — a non-profit outlet trying to fill the void left over from the utter gutting of the David Smith-era Baltimore Sun — broke the story.

  9. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Acuna didn't score from third on a double play? Pitcher had time to look him back and start the play. I'd like him to have danced long enough to slow the play down, but alas.
  10. =Fman99 post_id=176818 time=1729296472 user_id=86] Now I feel OK with Senga closing this one out. Well, maybe with 1-2 more runs
  11. I'm not so sure that I want to use Acoonie here. I kind of wanted his glove for the ninth.
  12. It's going to be hard to sit Jesse Winker after this.
  13. Well, they're going to have to go through the top of the lineup here after Pages. And Pages has been Babe Ruth today.
  14. https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1847382399501603283 That's about $800 for the tickets and another $1,100 for the https://www.stellamccartney.com/us/en/logo-square-crossbody-bag-700073WP02342200U.html?gad_source=4&gclid=CjwKCAjwjsi4BhB5EiwAFAL0YGT30OQ6FYEKmBEW-P2_yOy8sG6bTf0SffI8hlux-gLOoOpiLq783xoCFRsQAvD_BwEStella McCartney handbag.
  15. The Police [bIGPURPLE]>[/bIGPURPLE] The Dave Matthews Band
  16. Seventies Aerosmith > The Dave Matthews Band
  17. McNutter still looking for his first hit with STRAUSS written across the side of his head, but I'll take two RBI flies.

  19. If we ever get to the seventh-inning stretch, we're getting more Temptations, right?
  20. Edgy MD wrote: =batmagadanleadoff post_id=176756 time=1729293680 user_id=68] 91.5% after Betts' HR. 10-6 Mets. How about after that strikeout? 94.5%
  21. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=176756 time=1729293680 user_id=68] =batmagadanleadoff post_id=176743 time=1729293147 user_id=68] With Pages' three-run homer, the Mets' win probability went from 99.0% to 95.6%.
  22. Brandon Nimmo's head has been doing a lot of swiveling.
