1. Remember, every pitch the Dodgers throw, every Met that reaches, means the Dodgers are that much closer to running out of pitching. They designed it that way.
2. Vientos certainly bonkered that one, anynutz.
3. ED-MAN is a terrible superhero. The Maton button isn't very responsive.
4. Frayed Knot wrote: Who had two Pete IF hits on their Bingo card? I had it right next to Arnold Palmer's Dong. It was a weird card.
5. An unexpected breakout game from outside the top of the order could go a long way for the Mets. Winker ... Marte ... Álvarez.
6. Francisco Álvarez, table setter.
7. They are also seeing the ball really well from way out there.
8. Manaea seems to be falling further to the first-base side than usual, throwing himself off-balance.
9. Also, (a) Muncy should have come off the bag and tried to tag Alonso, and ( Ohtani is tall enough that he would have been able to catch that throw with his foot still on the base.
10. Special thanks are due to the Padres for convincing the Dodgers that using bullpen games in the post-season is good idea.
11. McNardles sure hit raisins out of the ball yesterday, though.
12. Lefty Specialist wrote: Freddie must really be hurting. And it's not like you can move him to DH for a day. You kind of can, except nobody really has the juice to go to Ohtani to ask if he can fake it at first for seven innings. Is there some reason why, if he's such an astounding athlete, he can't be at least as good as Anthony Rizzo over there?
13. Well, The World Series is going to be at least half-boring.
14. God, what a horrible decision it was to effectively take away extra-inning baseball. And Soto plates three, when he didn't even get all of it.
15. Redemption for Classy!
16. Unsung Yankee relievers have been pulling through in this series.
17. Temps (L-R) Terry Weeks (second tenor) Jawan M. Jackson (bass) Otis Williams (baritone, last surviving founder/peak period member) Ron Tyson (lead tenor) Tony Grant (lead tenor/falsetto)
18. Keeping-It-Metly Saturday. https://metsrostercentral.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/screen-shot-2024-10-19-at-5.11.38-pm.png> A rarity score of 22.
19. Off-days in the post-season can be fun. If you listen real closely, you can hear arms healing.
20. Berti bungled the third out, but got the ball to first in time. Yankensteins up 3-1. But, you know, so were the Dodgers.
21. Down by two, the Clevelanders have two on and one out. Magic is all over the place.
