  1. Brett is a threat.
  2. I really don't need to see Álvarez getting hit on the hand.

  4. Cade Horton looks like young Kerry Wood.
  5. Brad Keller is a base-line jumper.
  6. Always nice to see Baty and Vientos in the same lineup. Hopefully, the Cubs will soon have gotten the message that they have been playing better than they are. 7. José Santiago.
  8. Two on for Alonso. It is a good opportunity to put this one away.
  9. Baty and Vientos are pretty close to each other in performance these days, hopefully with both waxing.
  10. All solo shots, of course.
  11. Homeriffic night, huh?
  12. Three cheers for Dansby Swanson! (And for Luisangel Acuña for pressuring his throw.)
  13. =Centerfield post_id=192103 time=1746811514 user_id=65] =metirish post_id=192046 time=1746744898 user_id=72] Tom loved talking pitching and loved talking about how great he was even more
  14. Chet was a terrific player. Had been in bad shape (could not speak or walk) from over a dozen strokes. I always thought of him as pretty heavy for such a good centerfielder, but the weird White Sox pullovers with the flyaway collars just made everyone look heavy. When he became a Tiger, and his uniform hung better on his frame, he looked like a super-athlete badass. And in that small outfield at Tiger Stadium seemed to be filled with violently athletic football types with him, Kirk Gibson, Larry Herndon, and Johnny Grubb.
  15. Nice to see Stanek putting out clean innings again.
  16. Well, lookie like the monkey is off McNeil's back.
  17. Let's hear it for the bottom of the lineup.
  18. No excuse for Senga getting caught watching the game, but Carroll probably beats that play to the bag anyhow. But what a great stab by Alonso.
  19. Maybe Soto breaks through in this game?
  20. Crappy road trip for anybody named McNeil.
  21. Shag Crawford, referenced during the broadcast, was fired for refusing to work the World Series. It was an interesting matter of principle. The league had traditionally awarded the assignment by merit, but had switched to a rotational system, and even though the switch initially benefited him with the assignment, he apparently believed the World Series deserved the best. Any mark against him was not visited on his sons, and they both became longtime officials, with Jerry following his father as an MLB umpire, and Joey working 39 NBA seasons as a ref, including every NBA final from 1986 to 2015 (save for 2007, when he was suspended).
  22. Their double-play tool is working nicely.
