  1. THE METS WIN HOME-FIELD ADVANTAGE!! THE METS WIN HOME-FIELD ADVANTAGE!!
  2. DIS-POS-A-BLE LOOGEEE! DIS-POS-A-BLE LOOGEEE!
  3. Adam Loewen in his four games at Buffalo since coming off the DL has two doubles and two homers, and is smacking to the tune of .467 / .579 / 1.000 // 1.579.
  4. I think "Disposable Loogy" was a King Missile song.
  5. I checked the numbers. I'm not sure how meaningful they are, if at all, or if Terry's checked 'em, but Batista has appeared five times against the Nats this year (5.67 innings) with a 3.18 ERA.
  6. Yeah, I'm on board with that. Terry doesn't seem one to load up for a big series. I thought (or hoped) he'd be more aggressive in getting the most out of his horses post-ASG.
  7. Got a 4.00 ERA as a starter, compared to Schwinny's 11.25 and swinging Hef's 6.89. Maybe not palatable, but it's a tough choice to argue with.
  8. Others of the top of my head; Ed Charles, Mark Johnson, Mike Howard, Chico Escuela.
  9. Schwinnie (11.25 ERA in 8 IP), Hef (6.89 in 18), and Batista (4.00 in 15.67) have collectively put up a 6.48 ERA in 41.67 innings.
  10. What I'm hoping for is what you'd like, I think.
  11. The Mets have plenty of money left. They're just artificially constrained from using most of it.
  12. Really, by backdating his DL status to his last appearance, and with days off and the break, it's conceivable this is a one-start opening. I wouldn't conclude that, though.
  13. DLon Gee looks like he's going to be out for a few starts. Who do the Mets turn to next?
  14. Rubin reporting that Gee will be placed on the disabled list. Doctors used catheter to break up a blood clot and he will remain in the hospital for a few days for observation.
  15. Berman is crap, maybe he won't be back next year. Seriously? Concocted non-event events like this which thrive on hype, loud calls, and more talk than actual action (see also: drafts, pre-game shows, etc.) are tailor-made made for Chris Berman; they're the reason he's employed. ESPN, which (except for the BB2N gang off in a segregated portion of the Bristol campus) can now go back to ignoring baseball now that what they think is the highlight of the season is over, wouldn't pull him off of something like this at gunpoint. America loves Berman.
  16. We're just chatting here. I think the first concern for all is Gee's well-being.
  17. I didn't diagnose a start, whatever that means.
  18. With the All Star Break, the Mets can plug in any Buff pitcher that they want. I've already expressed my Harvey feeling, but Batista and Heftista and Schwintista will also be available for your consideration. Get well, Gee.
  19. I'm confused. Is Billy Barty an All-Star?
  20. VAL! PASCUCCI! Triple-A Home Run Derby winner.
  21. Hey, Steven Matz is pitchin'! Six innings of one-hit ball!
