  1. What's it gonna take to oust Brian Stokes as the all-time RotM king?
  2. We totally dropkicked Bragg back in 2001.
  3. Matt Wise --- 2008 Met who has 100% escaped my memory. Was an opening day goat: http://archives.cranepoolforum.net/8500/f1_t8580.shtml Even as I'm submitted this post about Matt Wise, I'm forgetting about him all over again.
  4. Nice month for the whole rotation, really. Fun to see cameos from ex-Mets as Cowgill and Ankiel poke their heads out of the back end of the list. Lyon may be one also.
  5. Best way for a starting pitcher to win PotM: excel in games your team doesn't win, and therefore garner points for pitching without having to share with the hitters, plus sympathy points. Think Harvey can sweep the season's PiotM awards? Johan Santana is really slumping.
  6. Well, who replaced Lyon?
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if he's been playing with a deviated septum ever since. The funniest part about Buck's line is zero plunks versus five.
  8. Always room for both.
  9. As everybody packed for the road following the game, Brandon Lyon got himself DFA'd. Not worth memorializing quite yet, as he may end up in Vegas. But probably not.
  10. Valliant but futile. But valliant. I had to go out for an errand the last inning and a half. Josh Lewin and the Theater of the Mind was wonderful. "The remaining fans are clutching tight to their giveaway gnomes." "Talk about a frozen rope! You could have hung your laundry on that shot!"
  11. No quit on defense anyhow. Let's get the run back.
  12. Nieves couldn't have put that more on target.
  13. Come on you extra-inning-monger Mets
  14. Nieuwenhuis just threw out the fastest guy in the league.
  15. Yeah, people take pitches on the edge for strike three all the time. He clearly thought it was breaking out of the strike zone. Happens all the time. Bad judgement, but it happens. It's not like there's something morally wrong with taking. Batting is hard. Judging pitches --- also hard. Meanwhile Ross goes the other way by swiinging at a ball out of the strike zone for strike three. Didn't he throw the bat a night or two ago also?
  16. Our innings all seem to be ending on called strikes three, with men in position to score.
  17. That was a good pitch Satin hit.
  18. We have a thread on this, no?
  19. John Buck's performance, before and after his vicious pieing of his teammate Jordany Valdespin at his moment of glory. PeriodGPAABRH2B3BHRRBISBCSBBSOBAOBPSLGOPSTBGDPHBPSHSFIBBThru Pie19757013192072200314.271.293.600.8934200020Post Pie51209188203440617211660.181.263.298.5615665002
  20. BRICKA, BRACKA, FIRECRAKA!! SIS, BOO BAH!!!? BUGS BUNNY!! BUGS BUNNY!! RAH! RAH! RAH!!
  21. Lagares swinging at junque. A hanger, but a hanger under his chin.
  22. Gee looking great. Strikes out the side. Passing the two-month test for sure.
  23. But... he has that Biogenesis thing hanging out there.
