AT&T Trivia: Four Career Walkoff Hormers for the Mets 1) Mike Piazza 2) _________ 3) _________ 4) _________ I'll say Beltran, Ventura, and HoJo. Wow. Chris Jones.
Henderson Alvarez throws nine no-hit innings but his team has no runs. I'd keep him in indefinitely. Last day of the season. Go ahead and blow your arm out.
I'll give credit where it's due. Bucknor is a rare ump in that he stays in shape. And he didn't take Terry's bait, either. Pretty lousy call, though. Not a big league mistake either. Amazing that Lagares gets all these assists on offline throws.
Last time I remember a guy stealing at the end of the year when everybody knew he'd be stealing is when John Stearns was going for record for steals by a catcher. If I recall correctly, his success rate went down dramatically the last few games.
Piazza entering to guitar music --- first funk (Hendrix), then metal (Nooj). Howie Rose is always at his best in these Master of Ceremonies jobs when he goes a little off-book.

Notable to me is that the game is over at Shea or most any other park where the bleachers don't build up against the foul line behind third. Brown has a good chance to score then instead of barely making it into third. I don't believe there is much territory in most of the new-style stadiums...Just bad luck... Yes but the configuration that has elimnated virtually all foul territory in the outfield, and deflects shots down the line back toward the infield --- that's a near fundamental change in the game and I think a negative one.
