  1. I expect the Yankees will see some Torres, some Mejia, y una pocita Familia tambien.
  2. What Torrezian nightmare of a start here.
  3. The Yankees are gonna see some Matsuzaka today.
  4. Quite the staller on the mound, too.
  5. Aceves looks bigger than the 6'2" 205 he's listed as. Kinda lumbers out there.

  7. Sloppy Yankees!
  8. Yankee broadcaster just called Murray Chass a "great writer."
  9. How 'bout that pick?!
  10. That'll serve. Kinda very surprising to see Grany successfully tagging there.
  11. Lefty-righty, man on third. GREAT time for a squeeze.
  12. Grandy looking like a different guy from three weeks ago.
  13. Guy in the Yankee booth just expressed surprise at Wright's 900th RBI. "Really? Sorta under the radar with that. Certainly the face of the franchise but really in the middle of a solid career." You're the last guy to know?
  14. Well, that was about as many pitches as you can throw in a shutout inning. Let's score five here.
  15. Just KINDA got a swing-and-miss to fan Gardner. Scouting report on Wheeler: let him wear himself out.
  16. I just saw a shot of the Yankee bench and there's a guy there who looks like Carlos Beltran. Sort of a bald version of Carlos. Does anybody know who this guy is?
  17. Murphy's defense:+1.
  18. I missed that barrage in the first, but I tune in for the six-pitch second. They have two more games to play these guys. They'll be thanking ourselves for the next two days if they chase this pretender early and get deep into the pen.
  19. Anything can happen, but anybody who takes today's Yankee lineup over that of the Mets is crapesy.

Duda came back after missing a couple of days and getting intravenous treatment. And Duda's a monster. A few days of dehydration probably hits Flores all the harder.
  21. Missing out on the chance to get Abreu in at DH, though. #SpoiledforOffensiveOptions
  22. Kind of guy I'd expect a professional hitter like Bobby Abreu to use as his plaything. I hope one of the Mets-who-will-be-actually-playing can muster up the same kind of guile.

  24. That "Stengal"-Torre card is...unfortunate. Indeed. Wondering whether any player had ever played for more big league teams in a single season than Kingman, I found out the answer, apparently is no. Nine players besides Kingman have played for four big league teams in a single summer, but one of them was property of a fifth team (for whom he did not take the field) as well. Name that player.
  25. Yeah, I should have assumed from the photo quality that it was DIY. Mazzilli's is realio, though?
