  1. Middle of four, still no score. Let's go, Little d!
  2. Opening their eyeballs, eyeballs Pretending that you're Shawn Green, Shawn Green
  3. Granderson's a former Yank And a guy that ain't half bad Murphy is an all-star As a player and a dad David Wright's a shining knight Won that Face-of-Baseball thing Duda is an introvert With an extroverted swing d'Arnaud d'id little d'Amage 'Til a minor league excursion Chris Young has rarely helped the Mets Not the shorter blacker version Juan's defense is cash in hand But his bat has been loose quarters Tejada strives and sometimes thrives But not enough for Met supporters Wheeler's tall and whips the ball He's wild but effective So root, root, root this afternoon With spirit, and invective
  4. I'm batting 1.000 in naming the 76-ers.
  5. Manny, during one of those periods when he was being Manny.
  6. Frayed Knot wrote: Yeah, but Fran Healy was a nightly assault on the senses. Not a bad point there.
  7. It's just a uniform. A goofy night's promotion.
  8. Who said anything about NOW!!!!???? No, not NOW!!!! he said Don't you know that it's different for Mex?
  9. Situation desperate, but Murphy still bringing.
  10. Duda: 80 Tejada: 74 Lagares: 37 Young, Jr., E: 27 Nieuwenhuis: 22 Granderson: 18 Chris Aguila: 0
  11. Or Wilmer at short and Murphy hanging in there against the lefty. Would be sweet for this to be the day Wilmer turns the corner.
  12. [fimg=200:3hw0tdcs]http://www.clipartbest.com/cliparts/7ia/K8M/7iaK8MkrT.png[/fimg:3hw0tdcs] [*:3hw0tdcs]Revere, cf[/*:m:3hw0tdcs] [*:3hw0tdcs]Rollins, ss[/*:m:3hw0tdcs] [*:3hw0tdcs]Utley, 2b[/*:m:3hw0tdcs] [*:3hw0tdcs]Howard, 1b[/*:m:3hw0tdcs] [*:3hw0tdcs]Ruiz, c[/*:m:3hw0tdcs] [*:3hw0tdcs]Sizemore, rf[/*:m:3hw0tdcs] [*:3hw0tdcs]Brown, lf[/*:m:3hw0tdcs] [*:3hw0tdcs]Asche, 3b[/*:m:3hw0tdcs] [*:3hw0tdcs]Hamels, ss[/*:m:3hw0tdcs][/list:o:3hw0tdcs] No Mets lineup yet. Look for suddenly hot Chris Young in the outfield and maybe Wilmer and/or Campbell at first and/or second.
  13. It's hard to distinguish how much of a GM's performance is his own and how much is the talent around him. How much of Bobby Cox's success was Leo Mazzone and how much was the pitchers Leo was putting in place. But I'd like to see the payment structure turned upside down, and GMs start receiving pay commensurate with their authority over billion dollar corporations staffed with multi-millionaire employees.
  14. I had that bet at the beginning of the year. Why doesn't every Met fan see the glorious dawn that is upon them?
  15. Mr. Met is Mr. Met. But the Phanatic's alright too. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: I'm pretty sure I've seen Colon giggle to himself, like, three times tonight. It's understandable, and charming, AND creepy, all at once. And now he's tossing the ball to himself between batters. He couldn't look any more relaxed if he had those pedicure things between his toes. Wifey MD remarked how relaxed Eveland and Black seemed to be as they took over also. With the big lead and the last-place team and Colon's unflappability to feed off of, and the homecoming to a stadium that's finally kind of like a home, this may be one the more chill wins I've seen in a while.
  16. Jacob deGrom, 2-0, 0.68, is your National League Player of the Week. [fimg=600:1uvrd719]http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.1883100.1406578113!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_970/mets-brewers-baseball.jpg?enlarged[/fimg:1uvrd719]
  17. Yankees lose. Nats lose. Mets win and gain on first.
  18. Gwreck wrote: LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Thassa long, long, big contract to eat. But costs no draft picks the way a FA signing would. Besides, we have comitted ownership in the biggest media market in the country, of course. Oh, man, are you gonna be sorry when Fred comes home.
  19. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Oh, I don't mean I wouldn't want to pay it. I mean, it's a long, big contract for these guys to take on. I don't believe, if they believe he's worth it, according to their calculus, they wouldn't pay it. Whether he is worth it, and whether he's worth the package that Colorady will ask, that's certainly another question.
  20. O'Connor deeming him un-worthy ("Jeter's position"? Really?) only serves to grease the skids to Flushing. It's a long deal, but he's got a lot more chance of living up to it than Johan Santana (for instance) ever had of living up to his.
