  1. Well, that was perfect. Seemed to try too hard with a 99-MPH fastball on his next-to-last pitch, and OF COURSE dropped the hammer for strike three on his next pitch. Syndertime.
  2. Lennerton and his Lincoln beard get blown away. Harvey seems to be staying within himself. Both teams have a Castellanos.
  3. Something like a high-end lineup out there. DETROIT Gose, cfIglesias, ssDavis, lfCastellanos, 3bLennerton, 1bHoladay, cFields, dhRomine, 2bAvery, rf Price, sp=#0040FF]NEW YORK Lagares, cfGranderson, rfWright, 3bCuddyer, 1bMurphy, 2bd'Arnaud, dhMayberry, lfFlores, ssRecker, c Harve, sp Both sides flail fecklessly in the first.
  4. Get on it, man. Millan, Martinez, and Scheck Were talking while Dave was on deck "We're weak with the lumbers Let's all swap our numbers Before we get dealt to Quebec"
  5. Intellectually stubborn young guys in their 20s have a habit of becoming intellectually stubborn old guys in their fifties and sixties really fast no matter how much leather they wear out and how many phrases they turn. I mean, if the Great Speedo Incident of 2010 didn't wake you up to the notion that you might want to temper the know-it-all act, what will?
  6. ISIS and Phil Collins. Somebody get the mic off of that guy.

  8. I was going to say the same. I mean, how does Derek Jeter being the greatest captain EVER help the 2019 Yankees? You might as well explicitly acknowledge that "captain" is a meaningless honorific that comes with no duties at all.

  10. "The Mets are in the conversation for the N.L. East title assuming Washingtons entire roster decides on the same day to quit baseball and enter the burgeoning marijuana business in Colorado." Andy Martino, channelling his inner Shecky Green He also was disappointed the Mets didn't open the purses for... Francisco Rodriguez.
  11. I heard Chris Young was PISSED.
  12. Yeah, it's nice when the grim reaper comes calling, and he looks at me and at Gee, and I'M the one carrying the lefty card. But that only gets me so far. So I take my vitamins, get my sleep, and pray to God that my days of injury are in the past. When all is said and done, remember that I'm still a permanent member of the small club of Mets opening day starters. And I'm NOT sitting next to Mike Torrez. Maybe Pete Harnisch, but not Torrez. So, don't be counting me out. But that brings up the question... what are you counting on me for in 2015?
  13. >> "What number did McGraw wear?" >>>> "For what team?" >> "What? The Mets." >>>> "Let me dial it up here... Mets... McRae... 56." >> "Thanks. I'll get to work on the copy. Limited edition. Authentic... "
  14. Mazzoni serves one up to AAAA masher Kila Ka'aihue and the Mets are down by one. First deficit of the year. Bottom of the seventh.
  15. We missed some nice action here. Mets up 4-3 in the sixth. Campbell and Maybone have gone deep.
  16. To be able to have a guy like Scherzer come in? I just started laughing. I was like, Wheres my ring? You know what I mean? Its stupid. Its absolutely stupid how good our staff is." Bryce Harper, arriving at camp. "I guarantee you we all saw what Bryce Harper said." Zack Wheeler
  17. Do these patches tend to appear during spring training?
  18. This has something of the feel of a burlesque of opening day, with the traveling Mets meeting the host Nats who are, in fact, opening their spring schedule. Unfortunately, from that perspective, the Nats are going with an A- lineup and the busing Mets are bringing Bartolo and a C+ unit to back him. Let's beat them soundly and efficiently. 19. I'm not sure how him bringing up his religion belies the notion that he's using "gay lifestyle" as a euphemism for "gay sex," which I agree he's doing, however wisely or unwisely. I mean, clearly neither he nor his faith is speaking out against gym memberships and show tunes, highlights in the hair and Martha Stewart products in household.
  20. Parker wore it because he came out on the wrong side of a collision with John Stearns. Valentine wore the mask at least part of his tenure with the Mets, but photographic evidence does not abound.

I'm surprised to find out that you have class. The funny thing is that you don't even have to work to change "Your Song." Just swap "song" with "shlong," leave 100% of it the same, and it's high-LAR-ious.

Sheesh, that was meant to go in the IGT. But it works for gayness, too, now thatcha mention it.
  24. I ain't talkin' about nothing but baseball. I'm a baseball player, not sociologist, or whatever. Yeah, I'm still baseball player who looks awkward going to his backhand. So be it. What do you think I'll do in 2015? And will I do some or all of it for a team that is not the Mets?
  25. Will he never learn?
