Vin Scully is 100 years old and he's comparing himself to an outfielder who has perhaps lost a step. Amazin'.

No GIF for Synderbombs?

Good to see Walker back in the lineup.

No faith and no love for Logan Verrett.

In your or on the field? Because there's a lot of ways to measure that, as far as WAR to date, and full-season projections. I imagine the projections wouldn't support that (which isn't to say that they'd be right). How about if it's Harvey and Conforto?

The Nats (Gnats, to the Mets) 2016 thread
Edgy MD replied to batmagadanleadoff's topic in New York Mets Talk
He's 23 and on his third manager. Fourth if you count Jim Riggleman, who was manager when he debuted in spring training. I think they're all terrified of him. -
I certainly think 2016 is a go-for-it year. I think they all are. And I think the idea of adding the player who is, now, the best player in baseball — and has been for the last five years — is for it to be a go-for-it move.

I'm not advocating, but the Mets have to be operating from the perspective that Céspedes is in his walk year. Unlike Cespedes, he's signed for four years — at a rate that seems ridiculous on the face of it, but may end up looking bargainaraiffic pretty soon.

Yeah, well, it annoys me that he pulls a homer to left and we watch lighting fixtures exploding in right. I'M AN AMERICAN CITIZEN AND I DEMAND MY FREE MEDIA BE FREE ALSO FROM CONTINUITY ERRORS.

It's been a tough week for the Binghamton Bumblebees. Almost nobody is hitting and the pitching staff has a bad case of the bases-on-balls. The very Metly-named Casey Delgado had gotten off to a great start in St. Lucie, and had sure been looking like a heckuvan indy league reclamation project, but when he was bumped up to Bingo to replace and injured Rainy Lara, he got hit hard in his first start. Oh, well, keep an eye on him anyway. Jeff McNeil had gotten off to a hot start, and had been seemingly playing himself into prospect status, but he's been laid up with double (!!) hernia surgery, and is out until mid-season. The Mets are only a game below .500 at 14-15, and I don't know how they do it, but that still places them in a seven-game hole behind the Rubber Ducks of Akron, running away with the Western Division of the Eastern League. Mets come back from a 2-0 defect in the second and they're still out there. -
That is a great guess, though sadly not a correct guess. I can't say for certain, but our two remaining Hall-of-Famers may be close to something like the oldest and the youngest Hall of Famers to have faced the Mets.

Lockwood had already given him two innings, but when the first two batters (Tim Foli and Joel Youngblood) failed to get the ball out of the infield, he decided to let Skip bat so he could go ahead and finish the game. Finish it he did, but not before first KABOOMING! the ball into a three-run pad. Good job.

But alas, it was a solo shot, so our second grand slammer is still out there. The big shot we're looking for is in fact the answer to a few of these questions.
