I'd use deGrom. That's some really stretchy thinking. And that's even ignoring the fact that you need James Loney to get you from one scenario to the other.

  3. It'd sure be worth something if he was doing it in the bigs.
  4. They should have Cspedes in the on-deck circle just to scare the pitcher.
  5. Send Cspedes up for Lagares in the ninth?
  6. Runs. Let's get some. Baserunners. Let's start with base runners. Preferably not after two out. But, you know, whatever you can do.
  7. Matz getting better as the day rolls on. Metz need to get better too.
  8. Granderson has certainly been hitting, and I implore him to do so now. Hey, we slayed that dragon Murph.
  9. Note to Mets: Gio hasn't been good for several weeks.
  10. Jos's got old guy skillz now.
  11. Professional at-bat by De Az results in a baserunner. He's performing a little.
  12. Somehow they survive that inning without a scratch. Reyes trying to recapture his leadoff homer record.
  13. Walking Taylor on four pitches is ... troublesome.
  14. I just learned that the All Star MVP Award is named after Ted Williams and has been since 2002. That's one stealthy tribute that it took me 14 years to notice.
  15. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I think we all knew it was coming. If I remember correctly, I was hoping he'd bite on the QO and come back for 2016. Looks like nobody was outright decrying this would blow in the team's face, but most were pretty leery that it might.
  16. Was the forum upset at time that Murphy was left to walk?
  17. I don't understand the first-pitch swinging when you're trying to get out of a hole in the eighth inning. Them's not the building blocks of comebacks.
  18. Maybe it's my being blacked out and stuck with radio, but this team is dragging ass.
  19. Bunting is for ... guys who can bunt.
  20. You know what's weird about Vegas, besides everything else that's weird about Vegas? The catchers, as a rule, hit. Not just the bat first guys, but everybody who straps on the equipment for the 51s has pounded the ball. Ashley, d'Arnaud, Glenn, Monell, Plawecki, and Rivera, without exception, have raked, to the tuned of .297 / .372 / .505 // .878 combined. That's like an all-star left fielder's output. With 21 homers total. Dilson has cooled off, but he's still got 12 homers, and there's .300 hitters everywhere. T.J. Rivera returned from the DL in the same MVP form he was sent there with, prompting the release of Danny Muno. Ty Kelly has also been unstoppable.. Rivera's MVP rival. Gabriel Ynoa has impressive win totals, but his 57 strikeouts in 109 innings probably don't have the Mets chomping at the bit to get him into the rotation. The team is like the parent team, floating just out of reach of the shark at the top of the division, losing their last two and five of their last 10, leaving them four games above .500 and five behind those yappy El Paso Chihuahuas. 21. Loney, we need to talk. That's not the kind of play that keeps you out of AAA.
