  1. He was a star. Probably the most likely pitcher to replace to Clayton Kershaw as the top pitcher in baseball by the middle of the next year. He led the National League in Strikeouts/9 this season and it wasn't even close. Led by more than a full strikeout. 1. Fernandez (MIA) 12.488 2. Ray (ARI) 11.405 3. Scherzer (WSN) 11.057 4. Syndergaard (NYM) 10.638 5. Bumgarner (SFG) 10.094 6. Gray (COL) 10.070 7. Maeda (LAD) 9.107 8. Arrieta (CHC) 8.704 9. Lackey (CHC) 8.689 10. Lester (CHC) 8.670
  2. Kind of wish they hadn't moved Campbell into the game. Terry has made himself look good working Soup in for a single at-bat here and there against lefties with runners on where they have to throw strikes. Planting him in the game where he's going to get three trips up there against a team that can choose who and what they throw at him seemed to put him back out of his depth again. Would have rather Terry put Bruce in there and Kelly in the infield. There's more upside to giving Bruce a game to work his way off the schneid. I mean, if there's a post-season roster, it's far more likely to include Bruce than Campbell, right? Great look at the future with Cecchini and Nimmo and Conforto and T.J. all swinging with confidence.
  3. And they leave him in. Land sakes.
  4. From now on, I only stay at the Mariot.
  5. Oh, Shmoose. Good for you.
  6. Don't swing until you get a strike on you, chumps!
  7. Nimmo takes a lot of fastballs on the outside of the plate.
  8. Oh, gosh. Wake up, Mets Nation.
  9. Shmee. Tying run standing there in the on-deck circle. Just standing there!
  10. Just reach base and stay alive at the plate. Wear these guys out.
  11. Here comes De Aza. Terry still hasn't turned over the Bruce card.
  12. Man, James Loney has more afterburners than that guy. Nice play, Mets.
  13. Well, Teufel is off the hook.
  14. Oh, man. I don't know where he was, but I'd sure've wanted to send Doo.
  15. A lot of reuniting tonight. Tying run on triple deck. One baserunner at a time.
  16. Hey look, Joe Ely is in to pitch for the Phils. [youtube:5omijdla]olOHGFa2QmA[/youtube:5omijdla] Not sure why Campbell's in there. Kelly switch-hits.
  17. Welcome back, Big Jim Henderson.
  18. It's the all first-round-draft-choice rally. Get Dominic Smith in there.
  19. Mmm ... a sliver of hope.
  20. Man, I could go for some Jim Henderson about now.
  21. Whoah .... TransMonk is bringing the data. That last line, though ... ouch.
