This belongs in the baseball forum. I hope that big doofus reliever with the neck tatts gets hammered.

The nine-games-out New York Mets put their seven-game losing streak on the line against the fakest team in America, who happen to employ the best player in the world. Except for maybe that two-way Japanese guy. Ricky Nolasco, who we saw about a million times back when he with the Marlins, is scheduled to oppose Jacob deGrom. The Mets get a travel day on Thursday, so you'll have 48 hours to THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU DID, MISTER. What will happen in the meantime is anyone's guess, but I see Reynolds swapped out for Cheech and Montero exiled in favor of ... Smoker? Baldonado? Tebow?

bmfc1 wrote: Why was Montero in the game? I'd rather have seen anyone else, including Pawlecki. Why is Montero on the Mets? Don't tell me that there is no one else in Vegas because I'd rather see Smoker. Why is he still in the organization? Because Sandy is a lazy, arrogant, do-nothing GM. The old conversatin' with the self in a one-man forum technique.

And Pee-Wee Herman ends the game. Diamondbacks 5, Mets 4. Remember the day. Might be the last time you ever see Montero. Not that he's alone in the blame, but you know.

And Reyes goes down looking at a fastball over the plate with the go-ahead runs on. Flurgmbl.

Extra innings: Mets have Duda and René Rivera on the bench. Backs have thier backup catcher Jeff Mathis. Feels like Jorge de la Rosa has been pitching for 15 years.

Harry Blackmun just passed me a note. Rosenstein appoints Robert Mueller special prosecutor. Mets 4 Diamondbacks 4

Harvey makes those around him worse, doesn't he?

Not the lineup you dreamed of this offseason, but it's the one that's going to fight for your honor.

Watch how he finishes his pitches. If his follow-through is deliberate and intentional, then it's Harvey the Pitcher. If he just sort of goes limp, it's Harvey the Baby, and it's a long night coming.

If The Scorpions can't save us, who can? You want to hold off as long as possible before resorting to Thin Lizzy. That's pretty much the last bullet in the gun.

Great job, Eddie.

Fucking Grandy. His hardest hit of the year.

Ed Lynch gonna be in the booth. Worth staying up for, d'Kong!

I disagree that Duda could've had the runner there. That one seemed to be on Walker. But a tip of the hat to the Diamondbacks for creativity and their aggressiveness. Take a note, Walker.

Wow, Duda threw it almost in the same spot as 2015, huh?

But yeah, looks a little d'Kong-y. But dang, second and third and no oots.

Looks about 20 years older than he should.

That's an elusive reference, bro.

Ramirez will be in uniform tonight wearing #55. And the Kelly Johnson dream dies a little bit more.

Also a beautiful post by 41forever.

My crystal ball says ... Vin Scully Day! Born in New York, raised in New York, started his career in New York, and then spent 50+ years on the West Coast working for Fred's Dodgers. Called Game Six and did so exquisitely. Vin Scully Day.

Toronto it is! Fun/not fun fact! Neil [crossout]Walker's[/crossout] Ramirez' first career save came June 5, 2014. Somehow, the Mets came up in the ninth down three but sent Eric Campbell, Andrew Brown and Wilmer up there (our 4-5-6 hitters that day!). He had to get Flores twice because Wilmer popped up to first, where Anthony Rizzo obliged by dropping the ball in foul ground, and then graciously popped another one up to Luis Valbuena at third to finish the job.

Ramirez looks like a three-true-outcome pitcher so far in his career. Lots of walks, lots of strikeouts, lots of homers. So I don't expect him to make the Mets any better or any more exciting, but maybe he'll make them a little deeper. Transfers from the 10-day to the 60-day DL are merely paperwork to free up space. But they force the team to be realistic about timetables, which in turn forced me to be realistic about timetables. That makes me sad.
