  1. And with that perfect inning, he works his ERA down into the sixes, and works himself RIGHT INTO MY FACE.
  2. Gsellman may have an ERA over 7.00, but he still gets points for entering to "The Stroke."
  3. So, if Reyes didn't net that ball on the second stab, how awful would it be in Metsworld this morning?
  4. It's nice to see that Matt Harvey has taken up fishing on his days off.
  5. Zack Wheeler, coming off his best start in over two years, matches up with former-Nationals first-rounder Alex Meyer. The Nats traded Meyer to the Twins for Denard Span. He never found traction in the Twin system and now he's an Angel. Shutout-happy Mets were able to mask the effectiveness of Mike Trout, and hope to have a replica in this game. Keep in mind that we have yet to see a Neil Ramirez appearance. Maybe he's here as mascot, or simply an example of what a player who hasn't been torn to bits by Mike Barwis looks like.
  6. They almost got the ERA below 5.00 tonight. Such little faith. The Braves and Phils are totally within striking distance. 13) ATL 4.833429064 14) PHI 4.856819567 15) NYM 5.000958038
  7. Doo-Doo did not go around on strike two.
  8. The ball is going through Maldonado's glove.
  9. Welcome to the big leagues, Paulie See. Cron, don't throw your bat.
  10. Sewald is as good a bet as any, I guess, but I was hoping on seeing the launching of The Good Ship Neil Ramirez here.
  11. Strange that Terry pulled Granderson instead of Bruce, who made the last out.
  12. So far, the press conference has worked.
  13. Most heroic inning of pitching this year, with honorable mention to Josh Edgin for his heroic 2/3 of an inning about 10 days ago.
  14. If we had the infield in there, that's two runs.
  15. Who says Reyes can't play outfield?
  16. Well, Cuzzi didn't squeeze him there. Here's a centerfielder named Paul Revere. Just me and the Phillies and a quart of beer.
  17. Let's hope he's got one more of the Espinosa strikeouts left in him.
  18. Alright! I didn't think Walkie had a chance, but a lousy offline thrown and the Mets get a little pad.
  19. Finally give up a baserunner and here comes Trouty.
  20. Twelve in a row. Shit, we've got to back him up.
  21. How's about we give deGrom some support?
  22. Folks aren't coming close to deGrom right now.
  23. Seeing deGrom get bunts down and get field his position really puts Matt Harvey in perspective.
