And Dusty goes to the pen one time too many and Wilmer Flores cuts the lead to 8-3.

For instance, two perfect innings with three strikeouts by Rafael Montero. Maybe due to get his first Schaefer PotG of the year.

Brandon Nimmo was a late scratch from the Las Vegas 51s lineup (even later than Matt Reynolds), and is reportedly on his way to New York to take Juan Lagares' roster spot.

Matt Reynolds was a late scratch from the Las Vegas 51s lineup, and is reportedly on his way to New York to take Matt Harvey's roster spot.

No, man. This is where it gets good.

Well, Juan Lagares, offensive player, was a nice idea for a while.

Welcome to 2017, Gavin.

René Rivera says shut up.

Two failures to turn two in this five-run inning.

Well, Duda holds some of that responsibility.

The Mets radio booth just announced that Keon Broxton has hit what is being described as a 489-foot homerun.

I always get surprised to be blacked out of Nats games. One hit away from tying it up with the tying run on second and TJ making the second out. Show 'em how it's done, Boo.

Mets need baserunners.

No word on yet on whether there'll be a move to fill Harvey's spot by game time, which means Mets fans online are predictably going CRAZY. The Mets used round 38 as the nepotism round, selecting Bayside High thirdbaseman Daniel Alfonzo, son of Edgardo and (I think) the fifth guy (if he signs) from the Fonzarelli family to join the organization. He's got his dad's quick hands: [fimg=500:11tf8h3l]http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.2672508.1465867779!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_750/yankee.jpg[/fimg:11tf8h3l] He's got his dad's love of barbecue: [fimg=500:11tf8h3l]http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.2233691.1432445987!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_750/alfonzo24s-2-web.jpg[/fimg:11tf8h3l] The Mets have supposedly had their eye on him for a long time: [fimg=500:11tf8h3l]http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.2233692.1432445989!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_750/alfonzo24s-1-web.jpg[/fimg:11tf8h3l]

No Neil Walker updates, man.

I see it presented as an initiative to loosen up and let players be fun, marketable, celebrated personalities, which will all be paste over the opening of a new window for logo creep. And yeah, a HYEWJ opportunity for new jersey $ale$.

Now, you know it's up to you whether or not you want to just do the bare minimum. Or... well, like Brian, for example, has thirty seven pieces of flair, okay. And a terrific smile.

Caught the Cardinals last night in the standings too.

Probably not worth fretting over. As the man said, 6-dude rotations never last.

Harvey missing some turns and Wheeler missing some turns was part of the outline anyhow. So here's hoping it is fatigue or the like and not more damage.

Swellest guy in baseball, ladies and gents.

Smugly end, but a heckuva win.

C'mon, Reedy. Hold steady. I agree with Gary. That's why you have Edgy start the inning.
