Shouldn't this be Grandy's at-bat?

There's your strategy. Keep hitting it to Fowler.

Somebody get Reyes some oxygen!

Sheesh. Welcome back, Hansel.

Frickin' DeJong.

Cards are strandy too!

Wild Wheelie just walked three in a row.

Hey, it's Mazzilli All-Star Homer Day!

Frayed Knot wrote: Tonight's trivia question: Keith is one of five players with 25 or more homers with both the Cardinals and the Mets. Who are the other four? Um ... Bernard Gilkey, Carlos Beltran, Joe Torre, and ... Ken Boyer? Jefferies? Jefferies it is. Gilkey, Beltran, Zeile, and Jefferies. Mets are hitting the ball hard all night, until they get a guy in scoring position. A very strandy night team tonight.

Céspedes just doesn't seem to know what he wants to swing at.

Why were we playing Tommy Pham with the shift like he's Dave F. Kingman?

Zeile's one!

Torre and Boyer are both wrong, wrong, wrong.

Miguel Ramirez finally walked his second batter today. He also combined with Ramón Guzmán on a one hitter. Miggy took the first six innings and Rammy the last three. Guzmán was untouchable, giving up no walks, no hits, and striking out six, lowering his ERA to 0.35.

Get your bets down. For once, Terry posts his lineup before the opposition. No surprises. I think Mr. Quizzmaster is saying that Adrian Gonzalez is correctamundo.

Will Wheeler flourish now that he knows what the inside of a ball looks like?

He was (obviously) pitching like spit when he left, but I'll take Rubble over Bradford any day. Rubble's got a changeup to go with his hard stuff. Bradford just seemed like a guy with a beard. Nice to get two good innings out of Goeddel yesterday, to the extent that anything that happened yesterday can be so considered. Neil Ramirez, on the other hand, is still looking for his first good appearance. Daniel Bard, by the way, finally made his first appearance ... giving up four earned runs ... in 2/3 of an inning ... for the GCL Mets. And Céspedes' hip didn't give up no 13 runs. I think there's going to be more to this. When does a guy slide and his knee end up getting under the turf? I'm calling groundskeeper error.

The 51s just put up a five-spot in the first. Rosario is now batting second instead of the third spot he'd been hitting in most of the season. If I was the type to look for signs, I'd see this somehow being linked to preparing him for a callup.

Agreed, there. Pretty weird since he reportedly has only been recently bringing them back into his rep. But nothing he threw had vertical movement, leaving him dead in the water.

If this deal shores up the Nats bullpen but doesn't pan out for Oakland, it'll forever be known as The Doolittle Raid. Besides that, I just thi ... nah, that's all I got.

Duda just fulfills all haters' criticism of him by bringing his powa down 9-0. I'll take it. Let's grind.
