  1. Hey, who is this Céspedes guy? Did the Mets just add him?
  2. Boom! He's already been skinned. Handsome sucker in Mets togs, too.
  3. The Mets have been severly disConfited, but it looks like the Padres are going with a pretty different look. 4. Whoah! 6'5" and 270! You may remember Jonathan from such deals as ME FOR TYLER CLIPPARD, TO THE EVERLASTING REGRET OF BRYAN CASHMAN! and SIGNED BY THE BLUEFISH BUT NEVER PITCHED FOR THEM SO IT DOESN'T COUNT! 5. Second place on the line. The Mets passed into sole possession of third last night.
  6. An Algerian naif, treated as the village fool in his hometown, sets off on a picaresque journey to the Paris International Agricultural Show, walking his (too-)beloved cow Jacqueline across France and encountering adventure along the way.
  7. The Cabrera deal can't possibly be telegraphed any more.
  8. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I was toast in the third inning. Sounds like we won Did you wake to the sound of thunder?
  9. It's an offseason decision, but I think he's just not a natural authority taker. You've got to project, This is MY field to the pitcher, to the defense, to the ball, and to the ump. And I think if it's a question of finding your inner Grote, and maybe having a catching instructor around and staying healthy for a few months has helped him do that a little. I still think his swing is too long, but certainly not as much as it was. It's nice to see him finally picking up some RBI.
  10. Sorry, man. Six tiers down from the bigs. About as low as the elevator can go.

  12. We need a guy named SZCZUR. Right now, though, we need to bury him, not praise him.
  13. AAAAAHHHH!!! I thought that was fair!
  14. Gah, Lagares could have caught that with his shoes.
  15. And hopefully he didn't give his team a lift, because this is 2 close 4 comfort.

  17. I actually erred in that report. Bard wasn't pitching for the St. Lucie Mets. He was pitching for the GCL Mets.
  18. Yeah, and Richard should have been chased.

  20. Interesting move, Neil. Normally, I wouldn't endorse it, but with a lot of parts moving around the last week before the trade deadline, maybe some team will see a big league opening you can fill.
